unlike English, dialectic Arabic is amendable after learning MSA

Postby jimmy » Mon Aug 12, 2024 4:46 pm

I presume, unknowing anything may be considered innocent or more unharmful than learning that thing in wrong way.
I observed that correctly learning MSA would provide any learner to amend dialectic thus he/she could adapt to dialectic langauge. (Also, in my opinion this will not be so long time consuming)

Therefore, I invite the people who are eager to learn Arabic to correctly learn MSA first. This is really helpful.

in dialectic (for instance Yemeni Arabic and levantine) videos, I observed that without subtitle/subtexts I was unable to detect what singer says, but after some time with subtitle, I think or observed it was familiarizeable thing.

I find it a bit hard to follow. Are you saying it's always best to just learn standard Arabic rather than choosing one of the 'local' variants?

To have talked much and read much is of more value in learning to speak and write well than to have parsed and analysed half a library.

In what way is this "unlike English"? People can learn English and understand most dialects without problems.

Arabic is a fascinating language. I think MSA is indispensable if you want access to written media and material, then I'd say pick a dialect.
It's like learning Latin, and then choosing between Italian, French, Romania, or Spanish.
