I picked vegetarian because I am a vegetarian, so. I registered. The financials should be okay (I am planning to give a talk again, which would probably reduce the price). I don't have to pay lodging and I'm not travelling around on this trip (instead I'll plan another holiday to do that instead).

Also, I bought my food day by day and could decide what I wanted (meaty, veggie, vegan). I think you have to pick just one to make it easier online.

Did you buy it at the venue?
Yeah on the registration page you can choose only one type, but this year I asked if it was possible to combine and then allowed me (and a few days before the event they sent me the menu in Slovak and I changed one of my choices).
It seems like they want to avoid that for next year though

I’d love to go someday! But then i’d have to quit my job....which would mean that I wouldn’t have enough money to travel. Chicken, meet egg. I’d like to go to LangFest in Montreal in august.

I did, yes. They just picked and chose out of the tickets they had available.

I have not registered yet, but intend to do so. However I don't intend to sign up for the food, part one because I want to choose where to eat myself (and what) ... point two because there actually is a nice supermarket just across the street from the venue (although with its facade turning the other way so you can't see it from the street), and that's where I intend to buy most of my comestibles.

That's cool :) I guess they're deliberately keeping this option low-profile :?
Did they tell you what the menu was before you decided?

They didn't, but I also didn't ask. I imagine they must have some menus on hand for allergy information etc.

I saw that, now I'm going to actually have to think about this. Sheeez.

And like some sort of prophecy, what's playing on my track list?

Ok. I'll get my act together this weekend when I can breath.
