Hello, my name is Diego. I have been studying German in an erratic manner for almost 5 years. Looking forward to improve learning with y'all.

Hello everyone! My name is Elena and I am learning German (trying to reach B1) and Spanish (just have started, therefore A0 for now). I also hope to keep my C2 in Czech alive (I used to study in the Czech Republic but since I no longer live there, I don't use the language as much).

Hi! My name is Alejandro (shortened to Ale) and I'm learning French! I studied French as a third language in High School for some years, so I'm not a real beginner, but this was 10+ years ago. My two main motivations to resume (or restart) my French studies are:

- I love French cinema! Unfortunately, some films I'm really interested in don't have subtitles, so learning French would allow me to enjoy them.
- I would like to move abroad. I've always lived in Spain and I'd like to experience living in a different country. My SO studied French at University, so moving to a francophone country seems like the best choice.

Nice to meet you all!

Hi everyone! I'm denouement, I'm from the US, and, although I'm a bit of a language dabbler, I've never had much success. I recently had a breakthrough experience with some comprehensible-input materials, so now I'm trying to focus on input to finally cross into bilingual territory. If I'm successful with Russian, I'd like to follow it up with Spanish. I've lurked for a while, but this seems like the time to join!

Hey everyone I was looking for a site to help me practice my target languages more and give me a chance to speak in said target languages. I found this one and I can't wait to get started. My username is Pegasusangel and honestly thats what I prefer to be called but if you want to know my real name it's Heather. I've been studying Japanese, German, and Spanish for several years and just recently got good enough on all three that I felt like I could start a new language journey. So I started on Icelandic and Norwegian but I will continue to be studying the languages I'm learning. I'm hoping one day to be fluent enough in all the languages I want to learn but fluency is hard to get so you have to find all the resources you can. Anyway its nice to meet you all and I hope to get to know you and find some friends who are learning or speak my target languages. Much love guys!

Hello, here's my introduction.

Coralsea.
I'm in California, USA. English native.
Studied Mandarin Chinese, Japanese and Korean in school. Dabbled in Russian, Arabic, Norwegian, currently Danish.
Briefly glanced at Spanish, French, Italian, Vietnamese. I've forgotten a lot.
If the language assumes future world domination, I'm in.
If the script looks beautiful or like chicken scratch, from the gods or from aliens, I'm in.
If general consensus says its impossible to learn, ...I may take a look (I'm in).

It's safe to say I want to know them all, but may not be interested at the moment.
I will gladly help you with your English. I will not be your girlfriend.
Other things I may be caught contemplating are the outdoors, painting, sewing, cooking, film, music.
But mainly, these days, I sleep and count my coins, and play a few video games.
I like wandering in zoos, aquariums, and art galleries. I wish to travel abroad more, so I can gain an appreciation for home.

I'm quiet in real life which makes me a complete blabber online. I take long stints away from the computer though, so don't take it personal if I don't... ever... respond. Three years ago feels like yesterday to me. I've typed this out to counter it. Jinx, jinx, jinx.

Hello everyone

I have been thinking for quite a while about taken up a new language. It would be the first as a selflearner.

As most people around here, there are "too many" languages that interest me and couldn't decide which one to study. I have bough some books for French, German, Russian and Mandarin but haven't brought myself to use them yet. (except a little bit the Russian ones: Assimil and "El ruso para autodidactas")
So I have registered on this forum as a way to telling myself to stop doubting and start learning already :)
Oh! I won't be studying all the languages above, just Russian for the moment being,...., and possibly Japanese.:D

Hi, my name's John, and this is my first post. I've been an English (ESL) teacher for 20 years. I taught in Tokyo, Berlin, Chonburi (Thailand), and Australia. Most of this time was spent teaching young adults preparing to enter university in Australia.

Sadly, the covid situation has meant no international students and now no work for the last year. With so much time on my hands, I have actually been studying English grammar and vocabulary in great depth through corpora. The special skill that I would like to share is my ability to use corpora, and I hope to find like-minded individuals or those that I can help.

I grew up speaking Macedonian with my parents. I learnt German in high school, one subject in Uni, and I practised some when I lived in Germany. I do not actively learn either of these though. I have no use for them.

To the moderators, I have read your rules about links and hope that I can make a valuable contribution to language learners. You should know that I do have my own language site. I have taught myself a great deal of coding to build a unique app based on language complexity.

Anyways, nice to meet you!
