Text archive for maintenance

At this stage I have already memorized the mini-story a hundred per cent, after written out two-column bidirectional translation sheets and doing consecutive translation orally.
I use this text for maintenance/repetition
The original text is green.
I coulour German meanings that I had to look up at the beginning, things that need special attention are red.
This structure may look weird , but it doesn't bother me.

CHARLATANS AND SMOKE VENDORS in language teaching and elsewhere

Cómo distinguir entre charlatanes y buenos profesores en internet.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TPREix ... e=youtu.be

How to distinguish between charlatans and good teachers on the Internet.

CHARLATANS AND SMOKE VENDORS

In the past, many years ago, there were many charlatans who lured (tricked) people into selling miracle products: lotions to grow hair, pills to make you taller, cigarettes to improve respiratory problems...

The sellers of these "miracle" products were called "charlatans" or "smoke vendors".

I thought that the internet and social networks would make us smarter and freer and that today, with so much information at our fingertips, it would be very difficult to fool people.

I think I was wrong. The internet is full of charlatans selling smoke.

In our latest video I talk about smoke sellers in the world of language teaching and give some tips on how to identify them.

Glosbe online dictionary offers audio context files (human voices) with their dictionary entries. If combined with "Pop-Up Dictionary" you get a very useful study tool.

Spanish as a second language | Español para extranjeros

https://ssl4you.es/podcast/210-eres-mad ... snochador/

These podcasts are all translated into English, so you can create bilinguall texts quickly. Though I think that the gain by doing the translations yourself is bigger. The texts are not too long.
