I will be editing the scoreboard post as soon as I submit this post, so if you have reported a score and I did not update it, please let me know (do give me half an hour or so). Below are a couple of discrepancies. I hope neither of you are offended that I posted this in the thread; my goal is for everyone to have a reminder of how we are scoring this year.Volrus wrote:Japanese - Specific

I'm coming up with one more day than you are. The days should be inclusive, which would give you a total of 27 days. Please let me know whether you actually started on 1/6, or whether the days studied or days missed should be adjusted here! For now, I'm going to go ahead and record the score as you calculated it (it would be correct if you actually started on 1/6.)MamaPata wrote:Generic (French, RussianSpanish):

Really petered off towards the end of the month but getting back into it. I knew it wouldn’t be great though, so just concentrating on the fact that I did do some study.
Remember that you get -1 point for each day that you did not study. The way you have it calculated would be if you get 0 points for each day that you didn't study. Instead, it should be 24-7=17
Finally, my updated scores for myself:

Re: 2020 366-day challenge! Scoring!
I signed up in German and Hebrew, and although I've found new ways to study my languages in the past six weeks, I don't think it is a good fit for me. I'm going to withdraw from the challenge.

I find it hard to believe myself, but this has been a good year so far. I have studied Russian for 63 hours 30 minutes and French for 30 hours 15 minutes in 2020. Once again, thanks to Sedge.
До сих пор 2020 неплохой год и дело в том, что трудно мне поверить в этом. В этом году, изучал русский 63 часов и 30 минут и французский 30 часов и 15 минут. Ещё раз благодарю Седже!

Re: 2020 366-day challenge! Scoring!
I would like to withdraw from the challenge, both in French and in generic (Italian, French). While being required to study every day was super helpful for me for the first year, early in this year I started finding it more of a chore than a fun challenge. I really needed a break!

So far, I'm very happy with this challenge. I generally find that setting specific time goals are the best way to study, because there's no need to stress with anything else than getting started, and once you are at work you can work at the speed that feels the most productive with the task at hand. When the going feels slow in all other respects, it's nice to know that you have put in your 30 minutes every day.
