I'm going to bring this post back since I am still trying to figure it out. If anyone has an answer or some kind of list that would be great!

Re: How do you learn Hungarian plurals?
I use flashcards to learn new vocabulary, and when a noun has an irregular plural, accusative or third person singular possessive suffix (I check that in my dictionary), I just write the irregular form next to the noun and learn it all together. As long as I don't get all of them right, the card doesn't move on.
In general, I try to avoid memorizing complex abstract rules, but rather learn with concrete examples and trust that I will eventually develop a feeling for the patterns. This takes time, but in the end it always works. I usually don't study "types" of irregular words (like lists of nouns that form the plural with -ak), because it rather confuses me.
