I think TV5Monde offers the programmes they produce in-house without any location restrictions.

Of those, I sometimes watch "Version Fraçaise", which covers things related to design/fashion.

I have for the past 4.5 years been studying my French for about 3 hrs. each day. Just recently I took a 7 day hiatus. Am back now and find I still have remembered what I need to.

During my years of study I worried that if I stopped my comprehension and discipline would fall off a cliff. Am relieved to find that is not so.

:D

I do a lot of reading of French literature every day and use as my dictionary
Larousse Concise French-English/English-French Dictionary (English and French Edition) (French) Revised, Updated ed. Edition
which has 260,000 words.
https://www.amazon.com/Larousse-Concise-French-English-English-French-Dictionary/dp/2035700027/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=9782035700025&qid=1563475784&s=books&sr=1-3

I have a Collins dictionery for backup but it is not practical to use it for word look ups on a daily basis as I read.

What does surprise me on a daily basis is how very many words in my books(see my Log for book lists) are not listed in this dictionary. Apparently the 260,000 words is not enough. As a last resort I go to Reverso on line if I really need a definition.

Oh, well..

This surprises me, too. I looked over some of the books you read, and all of them seem pretty mainstream. Occasionally I also run into a word not in any of my dictionaries, but it's almost always technical or historical.
I have a Petit Larousse and a Petit Robert, which are my references of last resort. Both are monolingual. My Oxford Hachette, which is bilingual, claims it has 360,000 words and phrases and 550,000 translations. It's pretty complete. When I'm at the computer, I find Word Reference usuful.

Not to worry... :) ;)

Just curious if you could you fill me in on the Oxford Hachette dictionary that you have?

There seem to be quite a few of them and I am not clear which one it is that you have..

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=oxford+hachette+french+dictionary&i=stripbooks&crid=3OBMZ1AQ9VEUW&sprefix=Oxford+Hachette%2C%2Caps%2C154&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_16

My Collins is too bulky for everyday look ups.

You referred to the types of books that I read and I thank you for checking up to see the titles. To my way of looking at it, they are all middle of the road standard French literature titles. Nothing technical or too historically anachronistic by way of time period.

Oh well.......

The Oxford Hachette you reference on Amazon is indeed what I have. Mine is the 4th edition published 2007. It is my dictionary of last resort before I go to the monolinguals. Your apt word "bully" fits it as well. :)
