plan in august to get the details done to take this exam.

visit testing center and pay by mail.

Hi Moonlyrics - we are preparing for the same exam! Except I'm taking mine at the end of this month.
The dictionary is a good idea. I'm using the A2 word list from Goethe Institute to fill in the gaps of those I don't know. I feel like I've learnt tons of words, and yet there always seem to be further ones used at the "A2" level depending on where you look...

Anyhow, good luck!

June Goal: Flashcard & Study all Top Lists

Part of Speech Index:
* 100 most frequent verbs
* 100 most frequent nouns
* 100 most frequent adjectives
* 100 most frequent adverbs
* Prepositions
* Conjunctions
* Abbreviations
* 100 most frequent proper nouns
* 100 most frequent irregular verbs
* Auxiliary and modal verbs
* High frequency collocations (phrases)
TOTAL: 11 lists.... >1000 flashcards

skip the main list of 1-4034 words because bold font is too blurry.
for full vocabulary, I'm going to use the legible alphabetical lists. that's my july goal.

time later this week to work on flashcards.

I still want to post something short for today. with language learning, I like to live my regular life and explore interests just german version. I love scandinavian decor.... that mix of mid century modern, textures and natural materials. it's like a combination of modern and hippy. I LOVE IT.

nordic nest has that type of decor.

here's the sweet part..... it's easy to switch between english and german versions of the website. I get an automatic translation!!! example of random stuff that I like.....

HK confectionery bowl
This playful confectionery bowl from Georg Jensen is designed by Henning Koppel and has a beautiful mix between dark, warm oak and frosty stainless steel. This timeless design is inspired by the vegetables onion and turnip but the bowl don't necessary need to be used in the kitchen, it works perfectly fine as storage for jewelry or coins for instance.

set of 3 bowls with lids..... 1 is oak and the other 2 are a mix of oak and steel. plus, they look like vegetables. ooooh yeah.... that's living my best life!

the fiction book arrived!!

Izara: Das Ewige Feuer by Julia Dippel

julia was born in munich. book says copyright 2018. printed in germany. I ordered it from amazon.de

it's the first in a trilogy. book #2 is stille wasser. book #3 is sturmluft. these books were published january 2019, so it's a modern fantasy series. ages 13-16 years. it still looks pretty difficult for me to read although the print is a nice large typeface. book is 540 pages. you can also get it as an ebook.

Geheime Organisationen und eine verbotene Liebe

secret organization and a forbidden love...... hmmm. I don't know what kind of fantasy this is.... if it has dragons or ??? my vocabulary is not up to reading this book easily. therefore, my goal is to read a couple pages a day. then after my exam, finish the book later this year. right now it's just an appetizer.

540 pages are a lot of pages for one book, let alone for the beginning of a trilogy. I admire you for banging away at German. Best of luck!

vocabulary flashcards on app

chegg flashcard app (edit: no longer available) has categories then decks within categories. created new category "top german 11".... for the 11 lists under "part of speech index" in my german frequency dictionary. unfortunately, it looks like any new categories are going to be mixed with the french categories I already created.

french categories were based on size of vocabulary type.

"french small decks" category has decks like prepositions and conjunctions.

"french medium decks" category has decks like adjectives and adverbs.

"french large deck nouns" has nouns divided into decks of 50 words each.

"french large deck verbs" has verbs divided into decks of 50 words each.

started making my german top lists.... text only. > 1000 words. top list for nouns doesn't include gender, so I have to cross reference with the main 1-4034 word list. that's annoying. not sure how long it will take to create this first round of text lists.... I do want to add memory anchors of nail polish art... but that's a bit of a luxury. probably will move on to creating the main text lists (full vocabulary of book) before finishing the visual additions to the top lists.
