Resources for learning Serbian

Postby NIKOLIĆ » Wed Nov 04, 2015 2:48 pm

I've been thinking about compiling a list of useful resources for learning Serbian for a while now, but I never had the time (read:was lazy) to do it until today. The following list is aimed at intermediate and advanced learners, but also for beginners who like to include native materials at the beginning of their language studies. This list is still a work in progress and I'll add more categories later, as soon as I bump into some interesting content.

TV:
Moja TV - 36 channels in total. 5 sports channels (Arena 1-5), RTS 1&2, B92 Info, 15 "Pink" channels, etc. Download this program and VLC player (recommended). Run the .exe file after unpacking, click on a channel and then just wait for VLC to open the stream.

TV & Game shows (YouTube):
Slagalica - The most popular game show in Serbia. A new episode is uploaded every day, approximately an hour after the live broadcast (starts at 19:00 GMT+1 on RTS 1).
Državni pos'o - Not recommended for beginners. Airs on RTV.
Vratiće se rode
Otvorena vrata
Bolji život
Stižu dolari
Srećni ljudi
Selo gori, a baba se češlja
Porodično blago
Crni Gruja
Ljubav, navika, panika
Vojna akademija
Metla bez drške
Mile protiv Tranzicije
Miris kiše na Balkanu

Talk shows (YouTube):
Oko - Political talk show concerning domestic as well as foreign issues and events.
Veče sa Ivanom Ivanovićem
Da možda ne

News:
Politika - The most reputable and unbiased newspaper in Serbia. Both Cyrillic and Latin script available.
b92
Blic

Facebook pages:
Neverovali ILI DA
Vukajlija
Dnevna doza prosečnog studenta
Uživo iz beogradskih tramvaja i buseva - Funny pictures and even funnier comments.

Miscellaneous:
Vukajlija - Humorous posters and word definitions.
Tarzanija - Satirical articles by various writers.
