And, back home after doing the JLPT N2. I know, from experience, that any feeling how I did is a completely inaccurate measure of how I'll actually do. I can say I avoided any time management disasters and rolled in on the last few questions just about 5 minutes before the end of the reading. What I can say, is I think I've lost track of how many times I've taken N2. I think, by my count, I've taken it every times it has been offered, minus 3. First year of the N-tests I took N3, and last year I took N3 and passed, and another year I missed the deadline. However many times that is, that's how much N2 I've taken.

Oddly, I am becoming kind of the JLPT n2 specialist, and I'm seeing patterns. Always the "Humans versus animals versus apes" (though this is sometimes insects) essay, and the letter explaining why their XXX can't be delivered. Results are February, which is crazy slow, but I suppose that's part of the experience. Going to do my yearly tradition, of putting all the JLPT books away, and see if I can maybe struggle through a novel, watch some TV, do some other stuff.

I know how you feel ...

I must've missed that one this time round (which might be why I finished on time ...)

I'm hoping that it was something to do with the second repair not being covered by the guarantee, but I wouldn't put any serious money on that ...

I'm going to tell myself that I'll definitely put more time into German now and then hit the 完全マスター anyway :-)

Yeah, yeah, I think that's right. Second repair not covered by guarantee. It's coming back to me now.

There is one thing, pass or fail on N2 -- just over the last year or so, even though I make a lot of weird mistakes, I have become totally chill about speaking Japanese. I've lost all the anxiety and effort.

Now what was the cause of this welcome change?

And because of Suomi Study Subjects:
Meet Nanook, the super-funny Youtube Talking Toddler.

Learn Finnish with a Toddler volume 6
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qj1p91hmG80

Switching on subtitles is highly recommended for those who do not understand Finnish, even if parts of the communication are in englantia anyway.

And I just got my JLPT N2 results back -- and the result is. Fail. Shoot, oh well. 73/180. 90 needed to pass. There's always next year I guess. 29/22/22 Language knowledge is 29, reading 22, listening 22. Bleah.

Sorry to hear that. Waiting over a month just to get an official "Fail" is never fun.

Thanks, yeah. It's been a pretty long road for me on this JLPT N2. It is what it is I guess. Will try again next year.

And just checking in. Had been plugging away on Japanese, taking my class. This the class is really mixed level, and one woman passed the N1, most have passed N2, and a couple, including me, are still struggling with N2. Instructor is moving on to proverbs and yojijukugo. Pretty busy with work. Literally I'm up at 7, at work at 8, home at 7, asleep at 10PM, so weekdays I don't get much time in for anything.

Am planning on going to Finland this summer. My plan is no plans, Thinking one week in Helsinki, just go there and sleep from jet lag, walk around, maybe go to some museums, buy some books and fly home. For me, trips are always super-low-key, as mostly my time is over-programmed anyway, and what I crave is lying around doing nothing.
