Proyecto de transcripción

Postby Jaleel10 » Mon Dec 24, 2018 12:44 pm

I'm not sure I have understood correctly, so don't hesitate to correct me if I am wrong. IIUC, the authors of the podcast make the audio available to all for free but monetize the transcripts via a subscription and you make your own transcript that you post here. If so, I don't think that's appropriate or fair to them. It's an awesome exercise for you to transcript them and you should keep doing that. It was generous of you to want to share the result with all of us but you are taking a product the authors are trying to sell (a product that is not your own) and giving it away for free. The people who created this content have a right to try to attempt to make some money from the content that they created, especially when they are giving part of it away for free. This undermines their efforts.

Even rehosting/reposting the audio is not something I would do. A link to the original website would be preferable because otherwise, you are taking away traffic - and potentially ad revenue - from these people.

Posting a link to the original audio, with what vocab was new for you, your opinion or experience, and doing the transcripts for yourself without sharing them is perfectly fine. Just my 2 cents and again, I want to acknowledge that I am sure you did that with the best of intentions.
