2018 - Summary of week 39
CA: 22th week of Catalan - 22000 reps. I marked the majority of sentences Easy several days in a row. All of a sudden, my daily reps had increased from 150 to 170 (although in effect, I never had to do a lot of them since the Glossika system skips the easy ones).
CS: Just Anki aloud.
GD: 23st week of Gaelic - 23000 reps.
RU: I finished Ангелы и Демоны.
TN: Daily Memrise sessions. One learning session.
YUE: Anki sentences aloud.
ZH: Some Anki aloud, some silent.
I finished one crime novel in Swedish. Another relaxed weekend ending with two concerts on Sunday (as audience).

2018 - Summary of week 40
CA: 23th week of Catalan - 23000 reps.
CS: Anki sentences aloud+a few Colloquial dialogues.
GD: 24st week of Gaelic - 23990 reps.
PT: I turned to Genesis. Again, a language I can understand (so-so, at least). I finished Genesis Saturday and started listening to Exodus earlier today.
TN: Daily Memrise sessions. It seems that I'm #1 on the list (not that it matters).
YUE: Anki sentences aloud+a few Colloquial dialogues.
ZH: Some Anki aloud, some silent.
I finished a couple of novels in Swedish. I heard Japanese at work.
You know your friends know you're a language nerd when you tell them about your Bible method, and the response is: "Yeah, that's great, you're familiar with the story. Is it available in Irish?"

2018 - Summary of week 41
Possibly one of the laziest weeks in a long time.
CA: 24th week of Catalan - 23930 reps.
CS: Anki sentences aloud.
GD: 25st week of Gaelic - 25040 reps. According to the Glossika system, I just passed a milestone.
PT: I finished Exodus, went to Leviticus and then onto Numbers.
TN: Almost daily Memrise sessions.
YUE: Anki sentences aloud.
I found an Afrikaans speaker. Not that the language is on my current priority list, but maybe some day...
You know your friends know you're a language nerd when you get birthday presents in the form of a Tolkien greeting card with birthday wishes in Gaelic, as well as a comic book in Gaelic (Asterix agus an Cealgaire).

Jaha! Grattis i alla fall, för fina vänner och irländska presenter!
(Kan man gratulera för såna saker? Jag tror inte det, men...)

Re: Jeff's language log
2018 - Summary of week 42
Another lazy week.
CA: 25th week of Catalan - 24980 reps.
GD: 26st week of Gaelic - 25940 reps. I also watched an episode of Fuine, a cookery show from BBC Alba. Maybe the Gaelic speakers here are familiar with it. Thanks to the English subtitles I was able to follow the dialogue. Here and there I noticed some familiar words. For what it's worth, I didn't find the prosody too different from the one I'm used to from Donegal. Together with the current "trend" in a few logs here, I got inspired to spend some time on Irish. Maybe next week...
PT: I finished Numbers and Deuteronomy. I'll now take a break.
TN: Almost daily Memrise sessions. I was #1 one day.
No Anki? Yes, daily sessions, but nothing aloud. There was a major delay at the beginning of the week when I couldn't reach my profile through the desktop application, nor install a new version over the old one. For a few days, I had more than enough on my plate (and less time due to external factors).
At work, I uttered the occasional sentence in Mandarin (one of the locals is learning it at the moment). I finished two books in Swedish (including one crime novel).

Re: Jeff's language log
2018 - Summary of week 43
CA: 26th week of Catalan - 26030 reps.
DE: I downloaded FSI German Headstart to accompany me on my walks. So far, I'm familiar with all the concepts and vocabulary (but not the content itself). The drills are alright, although they would make more sense if I had the PDF in front of me.
GD: 27st week of Gaelic - 26990 reps. I also had a look at letter #1 at An Litir Bheag.
TN: Daily Memrise sessions.
I finished two books in Swedish - crime novels, of course.

2018 - Summary of week 44
CA: 27th week of Catalan - 27080 reps. I watched one of the short videos from 4cat, but didn't really do anything serious.
DE: More FSI German Headstart. Nothing particularly strange or unfamiliar.
GD: 28st week of Gaelic - 28040 reps.
NO: I spent some time in a Swedish-Norwegian setting (including codeswitching) which in turn inspired me to expose myself to some more Norwegian. I listened to the first three episodes (eight in total) from the radio drama Clue (Nrk.no link).
TN: Daily Memrise sessions.
I finished one crime novel in Swedish, one book about the English language and one about the history of role-playing games. Today (=Sunday) and also went to the Gutamålets dag event (see also this post from last year). Some topics inspired me too look up information about the Gutnic language in general and the possible connection between Gutnic and Gothic.
Documentation of Gutnish phonetics and phonology (PDF)
East Norse or East Germanic? On the alleged Gotland-Gothic linguistic connections (PDF)
