Fuzzy time has been one of my favourite add-ons for a long time. Unfortunately it's not compatible with the newer versions of Firefox.
Does anyone know anything similar (for PC)? Or does anyone see enough value in this to make something similar?

Re: Text clock
I'm thinking of remaking it for the new Firefox, but you might have to wait a month or two for me to get around it.
I had never heard of this extension. How did it work exactly? Where was the clock added inside the Firefox window?

Re: Text clock
It was in the status bar/add-on bar. So after these were discontinued, it could only be used with an add-on that creates them.
I'm fine with placing it anywhere though, for example in the menu bar.
The old add-on can still be used in Firefox ESR 52 (recently discontinued), Waterfox 56 or other FF-based browsers. The .xpi file is available for now but firefox is planning to remove these.

Re: Text clock
I installed Waterfox and got the extension to work.
I was thinking of extracting all the time expressions from it, so to ship with the same languages on day 1, but then I noticed the (Simplified) Chinese expressions are completely wrong! It seems someone grabbed the English expressions and literally translated them into Mandarin, thinking that would produce correct Chinese. People sometimes. (EDIT: Actually, it appears it is correct Chinese, but weirdly formatted with the minutes before the hours?) The Spanish expressions are correct at least.
It also seems you cannot write an extension that adds a menu to the menu bar. I think I'll implement it as a button on the address bar, like this.
Again, just give me one or two months to get around coding it.

Re: Text clock
I contacted the author and he said he'd look into updating it... (I was a bit surprised the email address was still monitored, since the add-on hasn't been updated since 2007)

Heh, that's great. I guess I won't implement it for now, let's wait for a little bit and see if he updates it.

Well, for now he said he doesn't know how to fix the extension (Besides, some new API for extensions are still not ready)
Perhaps you can get in touch and collaborate somehow?
