Just a head's up: a 'new' Russian series just showed up on Netflix (in the Netherlands, at least): The Road to Calvary. Not sure if it's internationally available, or perhaps the US/UK already had it, but still. I'm pleased.

Хождение по мукам for those who don't have Netflix. The comments under the 1st episode are not very encouraging...

There's an old Russian apocryphal text called Хождение Богородицы по мукам, the title of the book and the series it's based on is virtually the same, minus the name of Theotokos. I'm not sure however if there is a direct connection.

Guys, my mom has taken your feedback into account and tried her best creating another video lesson to try to help all of you to learn Russian better. As with previous video, your feedback is very appreciated. Her video lesson in Russian: https://youtu.be/3cgcYl8G9Nc

Quoting from another thread because I'm curious if anyone knows about something like this for Russian?

Incidentaly, I began listening to the Rhinospike recordings. Is there any Japanese version of the YouTube channel français en dialogue (yes, with Kanjis included)?

This playlist is the superior version of what français en dialogue aims to do. I like the visuals and the cultural/further explanations are invaluable. It's a really good resource. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... pY75V4qE72

This is a playlist of common 1000??? sentences to become conversionally proficient in Japanese. The Japanese phrases is said first and normally but they also read out loud the English translation of the sentence using mildly annoying computer-generated audio. Luckily the audio Japanese sentence isn't computer-generated.

Routledge Intensive Russian Course

Postby aravinda » Thu Sep 20, 2018 11:44 pm

Has anyone used the Routledge Intensive Russian Course? Is it commonly used as a university textbook? Is it really intensive as the title claims it to be? I am particularly interested in hearing about the audio CDs (which are expensive and difficult to find by the way). For example, are they completely in Russian or do they have a lot of English like the Colloquial series?

I don't know the book, but you can find more information (including a sample chapter) on the Companion Website: http://cw.routledge.com/textbooks/9780415223003/

Just making my initial post here.
Joined the boards a day or so ago. Re-learning Russian after years away.
I'll be following, possibly even participating, in this group as my Russian improves.

Not quite Russian, but here goes - hey, ya'll!
