I have many grammar books but The Ultimate French Review and Practice is absolutely my favorite.

I'm wondering about Assimil Using French. Does the mp3 disc contain a unique audio file for each phrase, similar to French With Ease? Or is it just one file per lesson, similar to the regular CDs?

Stefan, unfortunately I don't know the answer to your question. I will be buying Assimil Using French in a few months, and I hope that the MP3 is the same as it is with French With Ease.

I actually came here to share a very, very cool intermediate French podcast that may be useful for those who can't find a good podcast that bridges the gap between beginner and intermediate levels. I think this podcast is for level A2, but it's hard for me to tell because my listening skills lag behind my reading skills. The podcast seems to be high quality and contains interesting information -- the first episode is about Krashen's theories. It's easier than both Balades and Intermediate Slow News in French.

The link is here: https://www.innerfrench.com/podcasts. If you have Spotify, you can listen on there! :)

Asked a user on Reddit and he claimed that it was individual files. So I just ordered it on eBay since I found it with decent price (€50 incl. shipping). Hopefully I didn't misunderstand him. €116 spent on Assimil and I haven't even begun studying. Audio is expensive.

Reddit always has an answer! Assimil is expensive, yes, but I think it's worth the price if you have the motivation and dedication to use it (and you probably know what you're in for, since you've learned other languages). The audio quality is the best I've ever heard, hands down, and the books can be used in all kinds of different ways. I will definitely be buying Using French when I've finished my French With Ease. I just looked at your log (I like to keep up with the other French learners) and it looks like you had one heck of a situation with your German copy, though. Ugh.

Hi Stefan - I completed Using French a few years ago. I pulled out the MP3 discs and listened to a few lessons and reviewed what was on the directory of the first and last disks and I did NOT see unique audio file for each phrase - there was one file per lesson. I hope this helps. I can't recall if you could order Assimil Using French with the individual files, but my version did not include them.

This would be a shame but I really appreciate you taking the time. Do you have ISBN 9782700580549? You're talking about discs but there's only supposed to be one mp3 disc. Do you maybe have an older version with only the four regular audio CDs? Crossing fingers...

I do have the older version with four audio CDs. My ISBN is 9782700510843. My "Using French" title is in Red and has the four audio CDs .
