Hi all
I've been notified of a new study group that is starting at the end of the month as part of GlyphStudy. The textbook is James Hoch Middle Egyptian Grammar and I have included a link below:
https://www.amazon.com/Middle-Egyptian- ... 0920168124
There is no cost involved, of course, and my only affiliation is being a member of the study group; I trust that there is no concern in sending out this notification, but please delete if that is not the case.
As per their flyer:

If enough of us sign up, perhaps one of the admins can move this to the Study Groups section?

Yep.
Unsure if this one was one from the email, but the best alphabet one so far is in the Files section and it is called "ABC Document (Karen)..."

Ok so... We joined -- we being my son and I. I'm not sure if we'll be able to keep up but my son is very very excited. Sometimes he has more enthusiasm than willingness to sacrifice free time.. so we'll see.
Anyway, he was working on the transliteration today -- the web game 1-2-3 literals drill.

Re: Egyptian (Hieroglyph) Study Group
I was supposed to start around December 2016 with the Allen text, but due to access issues, etc. I wasn't able to go ahead. I did, however, buy a beautiful set of hieroglyphic “alphabet” blocks at the time and it will be nice to finally use them.
The company that made them, Uncle Goose, also make blocks for various writing systems (Cyrillic, Hindi, Arabic, etc.) and I've acquired a few of them already.
Will anyone also be studying the Assimil L'Egyptien hiéroglyphique text?

Re: Egyptian (Hieroglyph) Study Group
Those blocks are amazing! I knew that company made Spanish & French blocks but I had no idea the range. (O hey look! Cherokee!!)
I might, later on, take a look at Assimil. EMK used it with success. I have a few too many things on my plate right now to commit to too much though. I mostly plan to work on this project with my son during school time --- will cut his history load by half to fit it in, in think.
