Language: Japanese
Challenge: full
Current level: ~B1
Comments, links: I don't think I'll be able to read that much in japanese, but I'll give it a try. And not all, but probably most of the "movies" will have subtitles in English.

Language: Portuguese
Challenge: full
Current level: used to be C2... currently ~C1
Comments, links: I read more things in Portuguese than what I watch, so that will be the actual challenge for myself in this.

I decided to add another one... just because I love challenges.

Language: Korean
Challenge: half
Current level: beginner
Comments, links: Since I'm doing the 6WC with Korean, and this will last until next year, I guess I should try to get at least half of the original challenge for this.

Language: Chinese
Challenge: Full
Current level: HSK5-6 ¿?¿?
Comments, links: Bffff... Okay... Chinese... I've trying to achieve a Super Challenge in Chinese since the first edition... And the reading part is my weakest spot... I've made some calculations and we need to read 8,20 pages everyday to read 100 books in 610 days (the length of the challenge) I'm already 6 days behind... But I'll try to catch up and read consistently. Let's see how it goes.

Language: English
Challenge: Full
Current level: C1-2 ¿?¿?¿
Comments, links: I read quite a lot so this won't be a problem... I want to get more into listening to audiobooks, so maybe I'll try that.

Language: Italian / French or Romance family
Challenge: Full (each language)
Current level: Italian about B2? / French C1-2 ?
Comments, links: Reading romance languages is such a breeze (especially compared with Chinese), that I don't think they'll be a problem.
I don't know if I should sign up for the Romance family or individually though... Last time I decided for a few months to try "learning" Portuguese without studying only through immersion, I don't think I'll try again this time, because I want to focus on these 4 languages + starting Japanese and I think those would be enough... but who knows?

Maybe:
Japanese? Korean? Portuguese? Well see how the year go and how I'm doing with my other challenges.

Language: French
Challenge: (full, half, double) Full
Current level: Intermediate
Comments, links: I completed a double Super Challenge two times ago, and it made a signigicant impact to my French. I hope to replicate the results again!

Edited to add Spanish on Aug 2, 2018
Language: Spanish
Challenge: (full, half, double) Half
Current level: Beginner - less than two months
Comments, links: I started learning Spanish less than two months ago, but I find that I can read very simple books half-way through Assimil. This may be utter foolishness to do a half Challenge, but I am going to try!

Language: Spanish
Challenge: Full
Level: around A1/A2 (I guess)
Comments: I started to learn Spanish about six months ago. I'm now at the point where I can understand material geared to beginners. Native content is still very hard. So finding suitable content is probably going to a challenge.

Language: English
Challenge: Half
Level: passive C-Levels, active B-Levels (I guess)
Comments: I'm rather confident in my listening and reading skills. Most of the media I consume is in English. Though I have to admit, I'm not an avid reader. I do read a lot of articles in English but hardly ever books. Hopefully, this challenge will motivate me to change that. There are several books, I bought over the years, waiting in my shelf to be finally read.

Language: Norwegian
Challenge: Half
Level: A0
Comments: This is an experiment. I started playing around with the Norwegian Duolingo Course about a month ago and it's really fun. As a German who speaks decent English, it's not that difficult. I'm not taking this very seriously. I would like to, but I probably won't have the time. My main focus lies on Spanish, but I'm curious how far I can get with Norwegian if I invest a bit of time here and there. Also, it's a fun language.

Language: French
Challenge: Full
Current level: ~A2
Comments, links: Trying this again. Long-time lurker, I registered just to participate in the SC. Hoping to move from A2 to B1, and especially to improve my full-speed listening skills.

Glad to see the Super Challenge back for another round! I hope it remains a permanent fixture.

LANGUAGE: German
CHALLENGE: Half
CURRENT LEVEL: B2 (approaching C1 for reading)
COMMENTS: Although I intend to do some easy, fun reading for learning/reviewing more common vocab and usage, I also hope to move more into proper German literature for this Super Challenge.

LANGUAGE: Romance Family
CHALLENGE: Full
CURRENT LEVEL (passive): low B2 Spanish, high B1 Italian, A2 French, A0 Portuguese
COMMENTS: I feel like I need more audio/listening comprehension practice, so I hope to do additional "films" for the challenge beyond the minimum. I plan to focus primarily on Spanish, especially early on, but I want to keep up with Italian and French too. I’m not really studying Portuguese at the moment, but might like to dabble with it a bit during the challenge.

Good luck to everyone.

Language: French
Challenge: half
Current level: At least a solid B2 reading, and not quite as good on the other three modalities.
Comments, links: By my count this is the 4th Super Challenge.

I jumped into the fray for the first SC about 2 hours after Cristina's original post proposing the idea. I initially intended to do the SC as part of my efforts to learn French from scratch, but ended up completing a half challenge in Dutch instead. I nevertheless also finished the film portion in French an 30/50 on the reading, while also doing a lot of German maintenance work.

By the time the second SC rolled around, I had branched out into more languages and had trouble focusing. In the end, I logged about 50 each for books and films, but no more than 16 of each for any one language! I had a good time with my languages, but obviously didn't do the real heavy lifting for any one language.

The third time around...I dunno, I think I got into an argument with someone, got annoyed, and dropped out before getting started. Life's too short to argue on the internet. I've been doing my own thing since then, learning all the languages, but I'm ready to get back into some sort of defined framework.

So this fourth time now...I've collected a lot of French books over the past 6 years, and I've only read a fraction of them. But now I *can* read them! It's time to get (re)started. It *ought* to be easy this time around, since all I have to do is read books I like and watch TV. We shall see.

Language: Spanish
Challenge: Full
Level: I was between A1 and A2 before but because of inactivy I'm back down to A1
Comments: I started learning Spanish last year and unfortunately it's been a lot of two steps forward and one step back. However, since I don't have as many work commitments over the summer I think now is a perfect time to really get serious again and the Super Challenge is a great motivator. Since I'm in the A1 area I think the hardest part will be finding reading material but I look forward to the challenge.
