need help to ID this "language"?

Postby udoittwo » Thu Apr 05, 2018 1:16 pm

Hello,
Sorry that I am using your forum but I am not really sure where to ask and at I am hoping possibly someone here can at least guide me in the right direction? I've been asking around at different forums with no help.

I have a large cast brass 1959 toy/ashtray Toyopet car. Earliest model Toyota sold in U.S. I haven't been able to find any info on the toy itself. It has printing on the bottom but I can't ID what language or even if it actually is a language? Possibly some sort of abbreviations? Maybe if someone knows what it is and if it says anything, that info might help me find out exactly what I have.

Anyway, here is a picture.

Thank you for your time, patience, and any help,
Karl.

It's Japanese:

大 バ ドラ 47.付
'59 トヨペット
クラウン ヂラっクス

google translate gives:
Big Ballo con 47
'59 Toyopet
Corona Chirax

It is Japanese, but the correct transcription would be:
オーバードライブ付
'59トヨペット
クラウン デラックス

Which would translate to: '59 Toyopet Crown Deluxe with Overdrive. I'm not really a car person, so I can't offer much more insight.
