Re: Luke studas Esperanton

Postby luke » Tue Jan 23, 2018 11:01 pm

La Ankio vojo kun la Baza Radikaro Vortaro feliĉigas min. Kutime mi faras 10-40 "novajn" vortojn ĉiutage.

Mi multe vidas jutubon filmetojn kaj aŭskultas diversajn podkastojn.

Mi legas, sed ne nur unu libron.

Denove mi daŭras kun Step by Step in Esperanto.

Do, mi vidos, kaj vi vidas:

: 371 / 1198 Step by Step in Esperanto - Mi haltas ĉe leciono 372 por nun.

Mi decidis halti Step by Step in Esperanto ne ĉar estas malbona libro. Fakte, mi taksas ĝin bona, sed mi kreas ke estas pli efika maniero studi por mi.

La nova lernolibro estos REKTA METODO de ESPERANTO, verko de Luis Guilherme Souto Jardim. Antaŭe mi legis kaj babilis laŭte kun la legado kaj mi sentis min pli bona parolanto. Do, mi uzos ĝin.

Flanke, la subskribo mezurlio helpas min fari iomete pli tagon post tago. Ĉar Step by Step bezonas multon da tempo, mi preferas uzi alian, pli progresdonan lernilon.

Mi ĝisdatigos mian lernmezurilon, do mi savos vojon ĉi tie nun:

: 26 / 26 La teorio Nakamura de lernu.net
: 200 / 200 200 artikoloj - Esperanto RetRadio

Nun mi legas pri komputiloj kaj similaj temoj.

501 Vortoj - Tio daure amuzas min. La malgranda vorto-stoko spronas min priparoli multe pri la bildojn, ktp.

Baza Radikaro Vortara kun Ankio - Mi ĉiutage legas, studas, kaj grandigas la kartojn.

ekParolu! - Mi finis la trian sesion.

Bonvolu pardoni la malbonan tradukon.

I'm doing anything to avoid doing what I should do, which is my taxes, so I'm updating my learning log.

I'm appreciating Andersen's Fables more as I do them more. Using a couple of English translations, the Librivox recordings in English, and the Espernato translation as well as the Stano Marĉek recordings in various ways. I've been focusing on the 5-10 minute fables lately. These shorter fables allows me to take a broader, deeper dive into each story.

I do a page or a few from Rekta Metodo each day. It's easy. The fourth part of the book is about computers and technology, which is relevant to modern life.

501 words is an incredible book, as much for what's in it, as what's not in it. I'm around word 111 now, and is really amazing how the simple language and pictures in the book make it fun and easy to expand on, circumlocute about, and extemporize on what's in the book. It's really great. I'm sure it's effective and I might should dedicate more time to it, but with all the other activities, I only do about 5 pages each day, and the book 877 pages. Truly amazing.

The Anki Basic Root Words track is often the first thing I do each day. Think this is good for gradually building up basic reading and listening vocabulary.

Edukado.net's ekParolu program is really awesome. I've been slowly using the sessions, waiting for normal, gradual improvement for each session without explicitly preparing for it. I might should focus more here, but think the gradual, deeper overall approach will be fruitful in the long run.

This summary makes me think I'm a lazy language learner. Maybe I should go get pizza, rather than bang out what needs to be done for April 15th. I can do what needs to be done after pizza (and maybe a nap), and another short fable. :)

ekParolu! - La kvara parolsesio estis bona. Mi atendas la kvinan morgaŭ.

La Printempa Esperanto-Renkontiĝo estis amuza. Mi nun konas pliajn esperantajn amikojn.

Kaj mi komencis la Evildean Metodon kun mp3oj kaj filmetoj.

Ankaŭ mi volas komenci la lernsonlibron Ĉu vi aŭdis, ke...?

I've listen/read 25 of the 45 Fables of Andersen. I've been selecting the shortest and gradually moving to the longer recordings. I'm currently in those under 20 minutes long. (using increments of 5 minutes to distinguish length).

I finished Rekta Metodo de Esperanto. New space in the mezurilo at the bottom of post for the measuring sticks.

It's kind of amazing how much the author can say with such a limited word stock. Next will be word 149. This track is more to extemporize (make up) things to say about whatever is in the picture and the words being used than specifically to learn something new. It's really for practice. Describing pictures does come up in the KER (CEFR) examination, which I'm planning to take in July.

Although I've been doing cards each day, I've only added 10 new cards in the last 2 weeks. The daily cards were in the 80-100 range and that was getting to be a grind. Today, there were 47 cards. I'm thinking a 40-60 cards per day range will give me a bit more time with each card to make up a sentence using or defining the word. Most of the new cards are at least familiar, but I'm using a measure of, "is it in my active vocabulary"? If it's not, or if I hesitate at all, I give it the "not so easy" rating. That's the rating most of the cards get.

My 5th ekParolu session was just confirmed.

The Spring Esperanto Get-together was definitely worthwhile.

I'm converting more Evildea videos to MP3s. I like his style and enthusiasm. He does a lot of describing the moment, which will be helpful when speaking.

I'm starting a new lernolibro meant to help listening comprehension. I did the first of 25 recordings yesterday. It was more challenging than I expected, mainly because many of the test questions had to be interpreted a bit. Wasn't simply, "it said this", or "it didn't say that". E.G., Just because it said that critics noticed elephant gradually started painting with more colors as its skill and expression improved, doesn't necessarily mean the critics remarked the elephant used colors. (one could argue the second is implied by the first, but that's not what was actually said). Goal is to finish this book off before NASK. This is a 100% Esperanto work.

Luko studas Esperanton

Postby luke » Sun Apr 29, 2018 5:33 pm

I just added a lot of details to the previous post in English. That pretty much tells what my current accomplishments and plans are.

Even though the week has been good, the ekParolu session was one of the most enjoyable times I've had in a while.

One thing I haven't covered much is that I'm planning to take the KER Exzameno at La Nord-Amerika Somera Kursaro de Esperanto (NASK) in July. Although I might could succeed the B2 exam, I'd rather be more sure of my success by simply taking the B1. I haven't done much studying explicitly for the exam, and I'm more interested in having and achieving a signpost for my progress, rather than a stretch goal (like B2) that I could possibly miss. I know I have holes in my grammar and speaking ability and B1 seems appropriate.

Long term, my examination goals are B1 this year, B2 at NASK in 2019, and C1 in 2020 before the Universala Kongreso en Montrealo.

Re: Luke studas Esperanton

Postby luke » Fri May 04, 2018 11:29 pm

Do, mi havos novan mezurilon sub miaj mesaĝoj.

Hodiaŭ, mi antigis la 17-an nivelon ĉe Duolingo, sed eble ĝi ne evidentiĝos ĝis morgaŭ.

I recently found a great Esperanto channel on youtube, Oliver Tells.

And I want to thank Reinke for indirectly showing me how to include a youtube video in a forum post.

On other topics, I'm abandoning the Esperanto per 501 Vortoj path. I just think other methods will be more effective right now.

One new, or maybe not so new path is La tuta Esperanto - gramatiko por progresintoj. This is a grammar book in Esperanto. It has nice, short chapters, and they are subdivided well. That means I'll have a new measuring stick in my signature.

Today I hit Level 17 (9000 XP, 100 crowns) in the DuoLingo Esperanto tree. I didn't get the fanfare that used to accompany the new level, but based on a few discussion threads, I'm hoping the new level shows up tomorrow. (I was making new goals for pre-NASK (North America Summer Course in Esperanto, and put DuoLingo in there. Thinking a few pesky points, like the accusative, de and da, and a few other points might benefit from some daily exercise).

Since there will be space in the signature, (or maybe there won't be, unless I quit measuring Fabeloj de Andersen, but I wasn't planning to do that just yet), I was going to also add a Liberaj Studoj from edukado.net measuring stick. It has been interesting to learn using a direct, but indirect method. I've done 8 of 44 lessons, in case it doesn't fit in the mezurilo. Measuring sticks aren't historical, so tracking the actual numbers in a post is worthwhile.

Sorry about the lazy translation. Just trying to communicate. The Esperanto came first.
