I'd be interested in the Finnish and Turkish books (for postage to the UK).

I'm afraid this is not going to work out, having just looked into tax and customs duties. They charge tax on gifts over a value of £39 and customs duty on anything valued at over £135, and looking at some of these books, they are likely to hit up against these thresholds. Probably not something I can justify for long-term dreams :P Very kind offer, though, and I hope they find a good home :)

You know everything I have ever bought from china cost £0.39 on the customs form, regardless of how much I paid for it. ;)

Are you sure that also goes for books? Books are often tax free (and consequently also customs free) - they are here in Norway, and I'm pretty sure they were in Britain too the last time I bought something from Amazon UK. And if they are tax free when you buy them, they should be as gifts too ... (according to my logic, anyway  )

Books are rated 0% for VAT in the UK so as long as you keep it below the customs duty threshold (including value of goods and postage costs) you should be fine. I've never had to pay anything importing books from Japan. CDs and DVDs on the other hand...ouch!
