See you then!

I suspect this will be that last one of 2018. ;)

Yeah, I think so too.

What?! You don’t want to spend Christmas Eve doing Setswana? Slackers!

I don't suppose anyone can find any of these books? Written by a linguist about Setswana and other Southern African languages? Could be out of copyright?

Did you try to google them?

Hi all,

About 12 years ago I purchased A Re Bueng Setswana (Let's Speak Setswana) by Sheila Mmusi, in preparation for a couple of trips I had made to a Setswana-speaking area of South Africa, near the Botswana border. Because the textbook had been exposed to the elements, I cannot sell it in good conscience -- the exterior is not at all in the best condition (but every page is perfectly legible). For the price of shipping (I'm in the U.S. Midwest) I'd be happy to send it to one of you folks; otherwise I intend to toss it out.

Alternatively, it's available new for $35 from the University of Indiana: https://nalrc.indiana.edu/resources/books-media/index.html

Here are some very simple stories. You can read one line at a time and toggle between Tswana and English. They are supposed to have audio as well, but I couldn't get it to work on any of the ones I tried.
