DELE group

Postby reineke » Wed Feb 01, 2017 2:45 pm

A few forum members are mulling sitting for the DELE exam. I think that's the case every year - the only thing that changes are the names. Sometimes the names don't change:)

How about forming a collaborative DELE group? Participants could share DELE-related resources, collaborate on exam strategies and people who actually take the exam could share their experience and answer questions. Similar groups could be formed for French DALF, German Goethe exam etc.

A new exam format has recently been launched. SIELE is valid for two years. The exam results will determine your CEFR level rather than passing or failing you.

I'm not sure it's a good idea for the DELE group to be separate from the Spanish group, but here's a link to an old HTLAL thread anyway:

Assimil French w/ Ease = B2?

It says French but member noriyuki_nomura talks about taking and passing the DELE B2.

"The C2 level exam: Think “very hard” & multiply that by a thousand
The Common European Framework of References for Languages level C2 is one of the hardest possible examinations you can do in any language. The system used in Europe for competency in languages splits levels into A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2, starting from “breakthrough” at A1 where you may have a few basic phrases, and ending at C2 where you understand virtually everything and join in on conversations with ease.

I have the DELE Superior C2 diploma in Spanish from the Instituto de Cervantes, so I know exactly what this level means. It’s ridiculously hard! For those of you who think I should be realistic and do the B2 or C1 exam first… well, I did that in French and was annoyed that it wasn’t harder :) I love a nice challenge."

I agree. It seems to be unnecessary duplication. Reineke, you and anyone else who is interested, are very welcome to post about the DELE in the Spanish Group, which is inclusive of all levels of Spanish. If you still feel that you need a separate group, I hope you will please consider a name change to avoid confusion with the Spanish Group.

Edit: I agree with Cavesa that this is not duplicative. Thanks for changing the name to avoid confusion. I wish everyone the best of luck.

I'm preparing for the C2 (I sat a mock C1 exam after strolling through the C1 material and my teacher and I decided I should focus on C2 instead, I can handle it).

I am glad for this subgroup. It is not intended to channel majority of the activity away from the main group, just to keep a bit of order in the mess, since it is quite likely that the goals of DELE learners and non-DELE learners may be quite different and so would the topics of discussion.

Another very good reason for a separate DELE group: If we "sign up" publicly here, it will be much harder to back out, once the time for the real sign up comes :-)

So, I am definitely "signing up" here, DELE C1 in 2017, probably November. Should there really be a summer opportunity, I will consider it.
