Time for an update - the daily reading didn't last long but I took it up again a few days ago. I've also been working on Scottish Gaelic recently as a participant in Cainntear's survey.
Earlier today I saw the 2003 film Hunted, with John Finn in the cast. I checked out his filmography and was surprised to see that he speaks Irish:

Surprisingly, his Irish sounds better than that of the Irish interviewer... Probably, because he used to hear the language as a child.
I haven't done much lately. I'm still suffering from health problems which messed up my ability to concentrate. My doctors say it'll take time till I'll regain my old mental strength, so I can't foresee when I'll be able to study again. Hopefully soon... I still have a bunch of Irish-language books I want to read as soon as I can fully concentrate again. But at the moment, I even have a hard time reading longer texts in German, let alone Irish.

After a lot of deliberation, I guess I'm finally going to study Welsh so long as it doesn't affect my Spanish. Amazon has quite a few books in Welsh and I can watch S4C Clic. I'm feeling the same excitement as when I started Spanish. What does that say? What are those people saying and talking about? I can't wait to find out! I'm also feeling some trepidation though, because I remember the frustration of the first few months of my Spanish journey.
Does anyone know of any Welsh language podcasts?

You should have asked Montmorency. He was very active in his Welsh studies including Welsh media and podcasts, but unfortunately he stopped being active on the forum some time ago. I hope he's alright.

I remember speaking with Montmorency about learning Welsh at one point. He's the one who suggested Say Something in Welsh to me. I looked at his log this morning and he hasn't posted in a year.

Lovely song! On that track, the Chieftains are accompanying the Rankin family, who usually have a number of Gaelic songs on their albums.
