I've finally signed up for Netflix after reading about it being a decent tool for language learning.

As Korea doesn't have Netflix yet I'm using a VPN which thankfully allows me to pretend I'm in France. As a result there is a load of French series/films and both dubbed and subtitled US/UK stuff.

Well worth the 8 euros a month.

... I, on the other hand, invited myself. :)

I wanted to ask for recommendations for audiobooks that you personally enjoyed a lot. I have an abonnement for audible.de which has many of the French titles, but I haven't been able to find anything that keeps my focus on the story.

I don't have a lot of knowledge about Audible, but I have downloaded some books from Project Gutenberg. My preference is for mysterys and adventures from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. I like authors such as Jules Verne, Agatha Christie, Arthur Conan Doyle, Alexandre Dumas, and Maurice Le Blanc.

I must add that I still at a point where I listen to or read the book in English first then listen to it French while reading it.

I listened to the recording of Le tour du monde en 80 jours from Librivox/Project Gutenberg before and I loved several of the speakers, especially that one Canadian girl. :D
I must admit I completely forgot about librivox because what I am looking for is a book with modern vocabulary which I can listen to many times, like I did with the Artemis Fowl and How to train your dragon series for English. (Shh, I love these kinds of series.)
But I just remembered I'd wanted to read Le trois mousquetaires in French for the longest time - I think I read the German translation when I was around twelve and I remember little more than what the book looked like. :'D

Also, I think that that's totally valid? I would probably understand more that way too, but I prefer listening to the same text several times while keeping my hands busy, because I tend to start reading books and not finishing them.
