Fortheo's list of graded readers is excellent. I've used a couple of them myself.

I'd like to add one more suggestion - http://www.mondesenvf.fr/la-collection/. I found these books great because, they are available in ebook, the stories are really not all that bad for graded reading, the audio is excellent, clear, and compelling. I highly recommend these.

Fortheo
http://www.podclub.ch/sendungen/l-avis-de-marie-f

http://www.podclub.ch/sendungen/balades-f

You can pretty much use both of those as graded readers.

Fortheo introduced me to these and I have found them to be excellent!

Is there anything like this in an even easier level? Maybe A1-ish level podcasts?

An excellent question.

I believe the following are easier and especially so when you turn on the Closed Caption utility.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVgW9Z ... siPgE2mYDg

https://www.youtube.com/user/francaisauthentique

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFu6uJ ... IyN9KpMPLg

I use them on a daily basis.

Give them a try and tell me what you think.

Extr@ French is 13 episodes of corny sitcom humor aimed at language learners. The dialogs are probably in the A1 to A2 range. Certainly easier than the podclub.ch podcasts.

Another web site that I use is News In Slow French. It is a subscription service, but I think it is worth the price. It is the only one that I will pay for.
News In Slow French
The first five beginner lessons are free.
Each lesson has a section on grammar and pronunciation.
You can download the audio as an mp3 and the transcript as a pdf.
The intermediate section has a new podcast and lesson each week.
The intermediate news can be played at slow speed and normal speed.
The intermediate section also has over 300 previous lessons that you can download and listen to.
The only drawback is that the beginner and intermediate sections must be purchased separately.
I am going to renew my subscription and use it this year.

I am back on a French kick again and trying to find the easiest things to watch on Netflix in French. I spend a ton of time on the treadmill in the winter. Any suggestions? Extra points if it also has ver batim French subtitles and a Spanish sound track. So far I have The Long, Long Holiday (amazing show), Puss in Boots, Wafku and Danger Mouse.

Edit: I'd like to stress "easy" above. My French is probably about A1.

I have recently found a French show on Netflix called Call My Agent. Unfortunately it won't match your criteria I believe, but it does match subtitles in French to audio in French 98% of the time. But for me it's a little challenging, as there is much slang etc, so it prob won't suit. Now I am in Australia, so it may not appear on U.S. Netflix, but still if you want to take a look... it might be there? I've only watched one episode. Good luck with your "French kick" James ;) !
