In the word غائِم = ḡāʼim.... I am struggling with finding the i in this word. I get all the other letters but what is the third one?. I do see the kasrah, and the hamza on top... but which letter is carrying?

It is a mixture of ء (hamza) and ى (alif makhsura - I am not sure how it is spelled) and in the effect you have ئ

ى is spelled الألف المقصورة [al-'alif (a)l-maqṣūra]
