The Like Moi! televised series is a collection of contemporary comedy sketches and, as for any other language/culture, some of them are hilarious whereas others fall flat. You'll have to listen attentively as the actors often speak very quickly. I'm in love with Gaby Gravel!

Thanks! I'll have to check this out.

It seems that the French in Action section at the college of middlebury's website is no longer accessible: http://sites.middlebury.edu/french-action
Now that the audio files are no longer available at that address I'm looking for new links to access them. Do you guys know of any? The videos themselves are accessible through other links, but those sites don't have the audio.

Good idea. I managed to get the audio.

Can you tell us how you got the audio? Did the administrators give you a link to the audio? Is it something you can legally share?

Merci,
Tom

I got the audio from a friend who ripped it from source. I'm not sure of the copyright laws. I'm going to email the site admins this weekend when I get some time off. I'll let every one know when I recieve a response.

If this stuff was in the public domain already, and it might have been if it was available for download on a legitimate site, then a copy from your friend would be legal. Basically because things in the public domain are in the public domain. However, if it is still under copyright in your country, then a copy isn't legal. You could however borrow the source from your friend and return it later, or buy it off them.

One thing I do want to point out is the administrators of this website can be fined up to $100,000 for wilful encouragement of copyright violations, and we don't have a lawyer to act as registered DMCA agent to handle takedown notices. One of the reasons we have very stringent rules about discussions regarding the distribution of copyrighted materials is the very real possibility of this site being removed or taken down. So I just want to encourage everyone to be aware they should only obtain and discuss legally viable materials, or if you feel this is too much of a restriction, then I'd ask you to move along to some other website for those discussions. Also, the purchase of materials and content does allow content makers the income to produce even more of the materials we all want to consume.

BTW, I'm not accusing anyone of anything! I'm just taking the opportunity to remind members about the rules and the reasons behind them. :)

You're right to be concerned. I'm lucky in that I can borrow the physical copies from my friend whenever I may need them. I've emailed the college of middlebury to see if the site restriction was accidental or not. I've also inquired as to the current copyright of the media. Hopefully I recieve answers soon. I've also discovered that while my local library does not have the French in Action tapes, the university I attended does but they are not allowed to be removed from campus grounds. I've also seen the audio on ebay and other used sites from time to time for decent prices but usually they are overprices used copies.
