We do take your privacy seriously. This website is a small website run by volunteers and the huge burden of GDPR compliance has fallen on us. We try to comply to the best of our ability, and don't want to close down the site because of GDPR restrictions.

Your Personal Data:

What we need
The only personal information we collect is your email address and session cookie data.

Why we need it
We store your email for password resets and system information. We also have cookies enabled which keep session data to allow the user to navigate the site easily. This information is stored in the Amazon Cloud in a secure DB server. We will not use your information for any marketing, and we have no advertisements or other cookie tracking other than the simple session cookie which is used to keep you logged into your session as you navigate the site.

Opt-In: By being a member of this site you are opting in to storage of this data. If you don't agree with this, then you can delete your account or ask a moderator to delete your account. You have the "right to be forgotten" however your posts are covered under the publication rules and we reserve the right to keep these posts in order to maintain the integrity of the message threads.

Personal data transfer:
We will NOT pass your information on to any 3rd parties.

Data Controller: Any moderator on this site can act on your behalf as a data controller representative and show you the data held. However, you can see this yourself by simply going into the user profile area, where all data about you is held. The moderator has access to rectification or erasure of personal data or restriction of processing.

Storage Period: We will hold your details for the duration of your membership.

Automated decision-making, including profiling:
We DO NOT do any profiling or automated decision-making with your data.

What are your rights?

If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect you request to see this information and even have it corrected or deleted. If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can contact our Data Protection Officer (Moderator) who will investigate the matter.

If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal data not in accordance with the law you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
