- Using online MUD games to help improve output in your TL
- Tactics to use your TL when you visit a TL country. There is a thread around somewhere where I made suggestions about ways to get practice.
- Free or opensource software to learn a new language.
- The way of the lazy fist, how to learn a language, eventually.
- Time management for language learning, or Using org-mode to change your life.
- I have no interest in speaking to people, what the hell am I learning a language for?
I really want to try to do a speech in French. But would people be able to understand me, that is the question. Oh well, perhaps it is better to give it a miss this year. Although hopefully I'll have the results of our study complete, but I'd do that one in English.
I'd go to those too. I keep thinking it would be fun to play computer games, but I haven't done so since the early 90's and it's a completely different world now. I don't even know how things work or where to start. I feel out of my depth.
There are usually a few on time-management, organisation and goal setting, but either I've been unlucky in the ones I've gone to, or most of the lecturers have just read a book or two and think they know what they're talking about. They've all been a waste of my time. If you can do a better job, I'd be interested in attending.
The other ideas sound good too.
