Haha. Yes, I’ve lost some of my fish and chips to seagulls, snatched right out of my hand at the beach.

When I was a kid we travelled all over the U.S. and one time to Great Britain. My dad had a schedule for every day and tried to pack as much into each day as possible. No free time or really even time to relax. I hated that and really lost my taste for travelling. Since I started learning languages, though, I feel the travel bug. No schedules! My wife and I (and maybe my stepdaughter) are just going to show up and do whatever we want. Even if we just want to sit in a hotel room all day!

My current travel plans:

2018- Take a cruise to Mexico that hopefully also goes to a South American country or two.
2019- Wales, Ireland, Scotland and England

As of January, I can now add Mexico to the list!

I need to update the future plans, though. Due to a delay on our cruise, where we had to spend an entire night in the Gulf of Mexico and miss one of our ports, we were given a 20% discount on a future cruise. I'm really itching to go to Wales but we had so much fun on the cruise that it really didn't make sense to not take them up on the discount.

The new current travel plans:

2019- We booked a cruise to Mexico, Honduras, and Belize.
2020- Wales and Ireland. A lot of the flights to Wales stop in either Belgium or France, so maybe I can add one of those to the list as well. My wife says being in the airport doesn't count as being in the country but I don't believe her.

I'm a little disappointed to not be visiting the land of my ancestors next year but at least that will give me another year to study Welsh. The current itinerary is, subject to change of course, spend a few days in Cardiff, ride the train from Cardiff to Holyhead, ride the ferry from Holyhead to Dublin, spend a few days in Dublin. A train ride across the entire country of Wales sounds like fun, and I want to see the Guinness brewery and Jameson distillery in Dublin.
