Happy Canada Day / Bonne fête du Canada

Postby lavengro » Sat Jul 01, 2023 2:05 pm

Happy Canada Day / Bonne fête du Canada to my fellow Canadians on the forum!! As a nod to the day, I am linking a Youtube ad from last year’s Canada Day that – viewer warning - can best be described as aggressively and disturbingly Canadian.

The violent display of Canadianism depicted in this video is clearly not from this year, as it is free of the extensive forest fire smoke sadly afflicting much of the eastern part of Canada currently.

Special shout out by the way to our American friends south of the 49th parallel for being such good sports about all the noxious and dangerous forest fire smoke migrating your way. And sorry, eh? Beer’s on us next time we get together!

Happy Canada Day! I'm wishing I had thought to spend my long 4th of July weekend up in Vancouver now (I don't know why I didn't...). I'll pass on the beer, but will trade you a jar of maple butter for marionberry jam.
