What's your stance on hot weather?

I still remember the weather report I watched in Egypt in 1992: the wall behind the presenter was painted with a redhot sun above a scorched desert. Presumably that was the normal weather situation there, so why change the image?

Me too. It's always the same, grass is greener ...etc. If it could only stay at September temperatures it would be ideal.

I don't experience extremely cold or hot days in southeastern China where I live. The temperature is usually from around 37C to 5C from summer to winter.

I know this isn't "southeastern China", but I live in Hangzhou and the winters here are absolutely brutal if you do not have central heating (as almost nobody in the south does) and you aren't able to use the AC for heating. I was quite strongly quitting my job at one point simply because I just could not handle how cold it was indoors, until I was able to come to a compromise with my employer. I swear 5C in the south is legitimately much harder to deal with than -20C in the northeast.

As for the actual question, I really enjoy hot weather for a few months a year (was routinely around or above 40C this past summer) as somebody who runs extremely cold, but as somebody who also likes layering on a lot of clothing, I prefer it to be very cold for most of the year (as it is e.g. in northeastern China).

Spring here, generally nice weather - today max 22C and much warmer to come. I prefer autumn though, since I could seriously do without the hooikoorts (hayfever)! I'd prefer 40C over 22C with stuffy sinuses and eyes so itchy I want to stab them out of existence!

Yes, very hot weather is annoying, but July with drizzle all day is just taking the mickey. There was more and warmer weather around April/May. These last two months my umbrella has seen more use than it did in winter! It's no wonder my back fence collapsed, it might as well be erected in the middle of a paddy field.

That was their hottest summer in 50+ years and there'd still be 80,000+ people packed into one of the large, dusty parks where they'd set up big 50 meter screens to show the matches.

I remember sitting in a restaurant one evening and I almost broke down from laughter. My friend, super-confused, finally turned around to see the weather portion of the news on TV that day comparing Buenos Aires' heatwave to Hiroshima. I kid you not.

As one who lives in the tropics, on an island in the Caribbean Sea, I sympathize with you temperate zone people. Here, right now, it is full-on summer. The Atlantic Ocean is the hottest it has ever been since records were kept.

There is something called a "Heat Advisory" that the US National Weather Service (NWS) gives

A Heat Advisory means that temperatures of at least 100°F* or Heat Index values of at least 105°F* are expected generally within the next 24 hours. Consider postponing or rescheduling any strenuous outdoor activities. If you must be outside, be sure to drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks in the shade

It's been that way here since the beginning of April. The heat index is a measure of what the temperature feels like to humans when combined with relative humidity. Our relative humidity is almost always around 60% or higher, all the time. Right now at 1600 AST the temperature is 32C, 90F with 68% humidity and a heat index of 100F, 38C. Tomorrow's forecast is a little hotter- 91F, 33C with a heat index of 106F or 41C. Our nightly lows are between 80F and 84F, 27C - 29C.

I do not have air-conditioning. My fans are on all the time. At least I can go to the beach for a swim in the sea- but the sea surface temperature today is 86F or 30C. It's some relief.
In the 20 years I've been here, I have never seen it this hot this early in the year before. September and October are our worst months for heat, generally. This year's Hurricane Season is expected to be the worst.

Thermometer is tipping 32°C here. It's not great, but it's better than dull weather and rain. Not so fast though, because a rainstorm is expected by about 7pm.

34°C here, but people are not really complaining, everybody seems to prefer the heat to the floods we had a few weeks ago.

I just want something a bit stable. I'm tired of having several seasons per week or even day, and that was the norm till half july this year. Constant heat is better, as I know what to wear. Constant cold is not nice, but I can still wear the same stuff in the morning and in the evening. The months of the Vivaldi weather were impractical.
