Do you mean George Friedrich Handel?

I went to look up more info, because I'm a nerd, and, surprisingly to me, Reinhard Keiser started writing operas in German in the 1690s. Mozart was just the first to make German popular, as Handel was the first to make English popular.

Edited to correct spelling.

The very one.

Here's some nerdy info. The house next door to his (and now both making up the Handel museum) was where Jimi Hendrix lived in London.

I asked because you said "Wolfgang Handel" previously, and I wanted to make sure of who you meant.

That's a cool piece of trivia!

Ah I see. I meant: 'after Wolfgang.....Handel ditched...' A comma might have helped.

Did anyone think Chanel's song (Spain) was written specifically to have some familiar elements to people who only know basic Spanish or even those who've never taken a Spanish class? In addition to the positive stereotypes obviously :?
I got the same impression from last year's Voilà.

And yesss it's nice to have a song in Dutch for once. My favourite Youtuber said she thought it was in Hebrew :?

I remember thinking Voilà seemed very stereotypically French last year, but I don't know much (anything) about French culture. I did enjoy Voilà a lot, though.

<side-note->
Many years ago I was at a concert where an Irish duo (fiddle + accordion) played a piece by the composer "George Frederick Handel Patrick Murphy" ( ;) ). They had previously recorded it as "The Arrival of Queen Sheba in Galway". (Live recording here.)
