What have been some of your favourite foods from your trips abroad?
1. Samasos from any street vendor in India
2. Any food from Sonam's Kitchen, Darjeeling, India. Especially her omelettes though
3. Everything I have ever eaten on a mountain or a boat
4. Lunch at workers' canteen Chornobyl (I guess you have to keep the workers happy so feed them well!)
5. Special Mont Pyar Ta Latt at Unique Mandalay Tea Room (sounds like a tourist trap but was filled entirely with Burmese!)

Ate there too, and while I liked it I can't say it'll go on my list of favourite foodsBluepaint wrote:4. Lunch at workers' canteen Chornobyl (I guess you have to keep the workers happy so feed them well!)
In no particular order:
1. Wild boar sausages at the night market in Ita Shao in Taiwan
2. ALL the khatchapuri adjaruli in Georgia
3. Mansaf at this one specific restaurant in Petra in Jordan and also all the food I had at Books@cafe in Amman
4. A pizza slice at Venice Beach in LA. I don't know what it was about this particular pizza slice, but it was phenomenal and my dad and I agreed it was the best pizza we ever had
5. Barraquito in Tenerife. Yum.

Really?? Maybe you were there on a bad day or I was there on a good one. I'd have asked for seconds if I could have. Was quite basic food but sometimes the simple stuff is the tastiest!

Re: Favourite foods from your travels
spicy kroket's from Febo in the Dutch takeaway food shops where you put money in the slot on wall and open the glass see through door. Anyone else? (I'm sure it's pretty bad for you, but loved them!)
Edit: Must admit I got addicted to some pretty sickly sweet chocolate pâtisserie 'thingies' in Paris and ate far too many!
Oh and Belgian waffles! Dutch frites with mayonnaise too!... Oooh oh, Belgian chocolates too!
Must add too I ate so much salted Dutch licorice too!
(can you tell I used to eat a lot of junk?)

Oooh éclairs in Paris. I am sure other French cities do them equally as well but in Paris I had a chocolate one the size of my arm.

Re: Favourite foods from your travels
Well, I'm not especially well-travelled, but I do have a couple:
1) Tiramisu in Italy (it was my first tiramisu so it really set the bar high)
2) Bagel bites from Bantam Bagels in New York City
