I have travelled to the following places. I am from Denver, Colorado, United States.
1. USA - Born in Milwaukee, grew up in Denver; visited 46/50 states!
2. Seoul, South Korea - Layover on the way to New Zealand. Spent a day walking through the market and climbed to Seoul Tower
3. New Zealand (Auckland, Christchurch, Rotarua) - Visited my aunt while she was living there and rented an RV and drove all around the country.
4. Canada - Vancouver - Visited a Japanese exchange student who lived with us for a few months before there was a problem with his visa. Canada accepted him in no time!
4. Canada (Montreal) - Drove with my dad from Denver to Maine and back, stopped in Montreal
4. Canada (Toronto) - Drove from Minnesota to Toronto to visit friends
5. Japan - 1st of 4 trips - Tour that I went on with my dad around Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka
5. Japan (Tokyo, Tsuruoka, Takayama, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Kumamoto) - 2nd and 3rd of 4 trips - Participated in youth cultural exchange program; stayed with host families and visited local schools
5. Japan (Yamagata) - English Language Winter Camp - Cultural exchange with American, Japanese, and Taiwanese high schoolers, stayed in an old lodge in the mountains, hiked and sledded in the snow, went to the onsen, took a river cruise
6. Netherlands (Amsterdam) - Family trip; watched Netherlands vs. Turkey in Amsterdam ArenA
7. Denmark (Copenhagen) - Family trip; went to Tivoli and biked around
8. Sweden (Malmo) - watched USA Olympic Women's Hockey Team spank Russian 7/8/9-0
9. Mongolia (Ulaanbaatar) - Participated in Denver Sister Cities program for 3 weeks; learned to wrestle, ride horses, slaughter sheep, archery, saw the Milky Way, tried many different foods, toured the steppe; amazing trip; my host brother stayed with me in Denver
10. Bosnia and Herzegovina (Sarajevo, Mostar, Travnik, Banja Luka, Trebinje, Bihac) - Participated in Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study through scholarship from US State Department; stayed with host family, attended local school, played with Zeljeznicar academy, participated in flag football tournament; volunteered at the European Youth Olympic Festival and danced in the opening ceremony
10. Bosnia and Herzegovina (Sarajevo) - Visited friends and host family years after my exchange
11. Serbia (Belgrade) - School field trip to the book fair
11. Serbia (Belgrade) - Visited a friend in Belgrade after my fiance got rejected for a visa to Switzerland; went to a Crvena zvezda match in the Champions League
12. Croatia (Karlovac, Split, Dubrovnik) - Played in Balkan Flag Football League
13. Colombia (Bogota, Bucaramanga, San Gil, Barichara, Medellin) - Visited my dad's girlfriend's son who was learning Spanish in Medellin; visited the rainforest; toured the cities
14. Georgia (Tbilisi, Batumi, Mestia) - Took a Russian class in Batumi, hiked in the mountains around Mestia, partied in Tbilisi
15. Turkey (Trabzon) - Took the bus from Batumi to Trabzon; saw Trabzonspor's stadium, walked the city
16. Armenia (Yerevan) - Took a bus from Tbilisi to Yerevan to visit my fiance's family; had to leave after 24 hours
16. Armenia (Yerevan, Gyumri) - Visited fiance's family, went to Khor Virap, climbed the Cascade, went to amusement park, proposed to girlfriend and partied
17. Montenegro (Podgorica) - Layover on the way to Kazakhstan; bought a sandwich; got my haircut
18. Kazakhstan (Almaty, Shymkent, Aralsk, Semei) - Studied abroad for a semester to learn Russian; stayed with a host family; hiked in Charyn canyon; went clubbing; played in local 7v7 football tournament; attended Kairat game; travelled to the Aral Sea after getting stuck in mud for hours and having to get towed out; rode the train; visited Dostoyevsky's house in Semei
19. Ireland (Dublin, Drogheda, Howth) - Layover on the way to and from Athens; visited friend's sister; drank Guiness; rode the train to Howth and Drogheda (one nicer than the other lol); walked around Dublin; watched Champions League final
20. Greece (Athens, Milos) - Spent a few days on Milos with family; went back to Athens; watched with fans in Piraeus as Olympiacos won the Conference League - mad scenes!
