I was hoping that March would be a new start but I let myself get sucked into lots of overtime - in a way it's a good thing that my job is so interesting but since it has nothing to do with learning human languages I have obviously been failing to study Chinese day after day.

So I guess you can count my last score as leaving score. (or recompute a leaving score for today, whatever you like  )

Sorry to see you go Aloyse. Sounds like life's pretty busy for you! As for calculating your score, this is from the rules:

5. If you withdraw after a string of missed days, and are wanting to calculate and provide your final score, calculate only up to your last day of study. For example, you have a score of 10 on January the 10th, 2019, with no missed days, then miss 2 days and decide to withdraw on day 13, your final score will be 10. Missed days will not be counted post your last day of study even if you decide to withdraw some days later. Thus according to the above example, your final score would be 10, not negative 4 (10 - 2 missed days, i.e. 10 - 14 = -4) for the 2 days you missed before deciding to withdraw.

So when was your last day of study? Would you mind calculating your score for me, when you get a chance? For now I'll just put you withdrew on the day you did (without a score). Good luck with languages and work!

Bonjour mes amis,

I've had to withdraw from the challenge. Too many doctor appointments have depleted all my energy. My last day was March first, for a score of sixty. I hope that everyone has a good challenge this year.

Later,
Tom

Might I suggest that the monthly leaderboards be cumulative? Since it's a yearlong challenge, not a monthly one. That way as the year progresses we'll be able to see how many people people are still at 100%, rather than just who got 100% last month. Just a thought. :)

Hi Lianne, I have intended that it be cumulative, but have barely the time to scratch myself lately to update it. Will do so soon.

I hope you get on top of things tom, or at least that things improve significantly so you have more time to spend doing the things you love.

I'm happy I made studying ZH a habit but now I'm not happy doing this habit. My last month in tech school so got a lot of stress planning for the future and somedays just want to chill and watch Youtube all day. Knowing that I HAVE to study ZH without a break is making me want to stop studying ZH when really all I have to do is stop this challenge.

Sometimes quitting something can be just as important as not giving up. There are times in life, ロータス, when quitting certainly is not in our best interests, and there are other times, as it seems is the case for you now, when quitting, is beneficial and about knowing what you really must do, what's right for yourself, that is. Good luck ロータス !

Okay, I've finally updated the scores in a cumulative fashion. Lemme know what you think, Lianne, and anyone else. ;)
