So, if you had studied 17 days in Feb, it’s
(31+17) - 7 = 41. If only completed 16 days worth of studying in Feb, your final number would be 40.

Thanks Peter. You're quite right, my logic was correct but my mental arithmetic was faulty

February

(bulk of post deleted to avoid confusion)

Thoughts:

The harsh penalty for skipping a day is a great motivator. There have been plenty of nights where I have been so tired, but have forced myself to sit & work through an FSI lesson just so I wouldn't have to take off a bunch of points. There's no way I could have done this type of challenge for a full year with two languages, like I started with.

Thanks kanewai for taking the initiative! I will change the way it’s done however. By the way thanks for the feedback, glad to hear the challenge is working well for you and keeping you accountable and in the game.

Here’s how I’d prefer it to go, without January included in the post, since some people may simply not post at all or drop out. I’d also like the Feb score separated from the total score, as follows-

Please copy the post from this sentence onwards, update your score and include the following:

• your username,
• your languages and their respective scores for each for February only,
• your total score for each language for the year so far
• amount of days missed (so that your calculations can be verified as correct)

February
Kanewai: 28 points (Spanish), Total points: 59
PeterMollenburg: 28 points (French). Total points: 59

It would be preferred, but if it doesn’t happen, no drama.
