Is signing up for a half and half challenge (25000 words, 25 hours of audio) possible? I'm a sucker for challenges and considering joining, but a full challenge is more than I'm willing to commit to this year.

We do half/half. Even Quarter challenges in the past.

LANGUAGE: French

CHALLENGE: Full Challenge

CURRENT LANGUAGE LEVEL: B1-B2 range, with speaking my weakest skill

WILLING TO CORRECT LANGUAGE: Yes, Norwegian

COMMENTS: I'm going to drop completely the idea of trying to keep track of what I write by hand. It just isn't worth the effort.

LANGUAGE: Spanish

CHALLENGE: Full

CURRENT LANGUAGE LEVEL: B1?

WILLING TO CORRECT LANGUAGE: Yes, English (USA-NE)

COMMENTS: I've been doing the Super Challenge in Spanish and it is helping a lot but I've noticed that I've been neglecting output. I do write things in Spanish but not as often as I should. I don't really speak it and there's no excuse for that. So, let's do this!

somebody stop me please... :-D

LANGUAGE: French
CHALLENGE: full
LEVEL: rusty C2
Willing to correct Czech:yes

COMMENTS: I need maintenance. My search for a writing tutor has been a failure but I should still write stuff. Medical flashcards don't count. As far as speaking goes, reviewing medicine topics as audio recordings could be helpful to my studies. I am thinking of using Lingora for some od my writing and speaking feedback.

That's great. Thanks for the info.

I can't make up my mind to join the challenge or not. It doesn't fit in my plans too well but it's so tempting. I think I won't register for now, but I'll keep a record of my output and make a decision later, once I get a better idea of how busy I will be.

Should I?
Okay, I will. No turning back now.

LANGUAGE: French

CHALLENGE: Full

CURRENT LANGUAGE LEVEL: Intermediate (somewhere in the B-levels, although speaking is weak)

WILLING TO CORRECT LANGUAGE: Yes, American English. I can't correct someone's essay, but I can correct journal entries, short texts, sentences, and other short, casual pieces of writing. Just send me a private message if you need a correction.

COMMENTS: I am preparing for the DELF B1. Working on output will be advantageous and I plan on doing it anyway, so it's natural that I should join my first ever Output Challenge! :D

Question. Does speech need to be spontaneous, or can we read aloud text that we have already written down? Which brings me to another question: if I record myself speaking aloud a text written by someone else (like an Assimil lesson) does that count as speech? Just trying to get some clarifications.

Yes and yes. The point of speaking is to make your mouth, throat, and other physical parts of your body learn to produce the sounds of the language. So what you say is mostly irrelevant, it is the physical act of moving the mouth, lips and vocal chords we're looking for.

Personally, I find that reading allowed can help me with fluency of pronunciation (training my tongue not to stumble over words), but it doesn’t help with fluency of production (coming up with the right words in the right forms in real time without hesitation).

Language: Spanish

Challenge: Full for oral production and half for written production

Current language level: Somewhere in the B range

Willing to correct language: Maybe once in a while (American English)

Comments: My primary language learning goal for 2019 is to increase the fluidity with which I speak.
