So would it be improper to do the 6WC if you are somewhere between B1-B2? Writing skills are probably not even at a B level.

Didn't we talk about running two challenges with the 2nd one for B2 and up? Was there not enough interest? Too hard to set up the bot?
Or maybe just run the challenge every 6 weeks, with it going back and forth whether it's for lower or upper learners? Then there's be no change at all to the bot--just make the thread here something like 6 Week Challenge Plus.
Can you link me to that discussion, please?
It was in the "What Happened to the Challenges" thread. Several people talked about it, but it never went anywhere.

Just registered with Korean. Just need to make sure to actually log my hours..I eventually forgot to do that last time and then stopped keeping track altogether

Brun Ugle wrote:Target score is the number of hours in the target language that you chose for the challenge. Total score includes any other languages you are logging in. You can log all your study, but you can only have one target language and the target language has to be B1 or below. To log other languages, remember to use the tag for that language.
Other languages have to be B1 or below too? Or you can log anything regardless of your level?

I think it’s only the target language that has to be B1 or below. That’s how I’ve done it and that’s how other people seem to do it, judging from what they log. I wouldn’t log really advanced languages myself unless I decide to do “real studying” in them, but I log all others.

Looking at the old highscores, reineke's entries of 300+ hours of study are just... wow. The challenge is only about 42 days long, so doing 300+ hours in total would mean studying at least 7 hours every day.
Since I was a teenager I like to measure activity time spanning several days with Final Fantasy games as the unit, as an old-school FF game takes about 60 hours to complete. You could actually finish five Final Fantasy games in 6 weeks in the amount of time reineke studied during those challenges...
What is the difference between Target Score and Total Score?
Spanish - I mostly watched cartoons (which is also, like, wow I know).
Portuguese - Dragon Ball>Breaking Bad>audiobooks
> ... studying at least 7 hours every day.
And were you studying (likely watching) 7 hours at 100% attention, or was 7 the disounted figure?
I know you seldom answer my questions but I can try.

While no one apparently noticed, I unregistered from both the SC and here as well. I reregistered here to try to focus more on a single language. I've "competed" with people who were reporting progress in Cat V languages in 10-hour increments. The challenge was also advertised on Reddit and elsewhere without any specific instructions.
TV is allowed as long as one is paying attention.
If you want to make the challenge about intensive study at A1-B1 level label it as such, disallow any tweets that report more than 90 minutes per study session and require that each intensive activity be labeled with a second hashtag. The second column could be reserved for extensive activities.
I am aware of the rules and I remember our prior discussions. I have also mentioned in the past that I always round things down, never up. I apply a further discount to the value I report for the day/part of the day.
I remember asking, too; that's why I said you seldom answer me. So was that 7 hours at 100% attention or, say, 14 hours at 50% attention?
