Registering for this in German. I want to get myself to a point where I can actually make progress on my German super challenge, but right now my level is so low that taking in a lot of native material is difficult.
Question, if we are enrolled in a German class for school, should we include our time spent in class and doing homework?

You can include any time spent studying the language. If you sit in class daydreaming or playing on your phone, you should discount the time when you weren’t paying attention. Use your judgement.

What is in between? You are B1 until you are B2, I would say. Just use your judgement.

Someone should really get around making a different Twitter bot that can separate beginners from more advanced learners. And for more advanced learners, maybe also those focusing on intensive studying vs. extensive studying.

He said someone should do something... then realised he was someone.

Or having the intermediate learners challenge in the 6 weeks of pause between a 6wc an the next one in order to use the same bot?Ser wrote:Someone should really get around making a different Twitter bot that can separate beginners from more advanced learners.
This is against the original aim of this project: give your best in a weak language in a short span of time. But can be a way to use the same bot, if available.

That's what I keep suggesting--then there's no change to the bot, really. Just call the first one the 6 Week Challenge and the next one Challenge Plus. Then the first one can stay B1 or lower and the second one open to everyone with the understanding that the advanced learners that can sit and watch hours of movies will naturally win.

The current bot runs 4 times a year, Feb May Aug Nov. It does not accept registration and does not run other times.
