I registered last November and I signed up for a double challenge, listening only. I have seen 43 "movies" in three months (in reality, animes and podcasts). It's a total coincidence as I didn't set a daily, weekly, or monthly goal for myself, but if I keep this pace, I will have watched exactly 200 "movies" at the end of December. Not one less, not one more.

I'm also vaguely hoping to listen to the equivalent of a half reading challenge in audiobooks, although I know it doesn't officially count since i might or might not read the book the same time. I'm not fully committed to the idea yet and haven't started.

Should L-R be counted as reading or listening? I've never done it before and am planning some L-R sometime soon.

Also sorry if this has already been answered; I didn't find it in my skim through this thread.

You can choose, reading or listening. What you can’t do is double up and count it as both at once.

Edit: That’s, of course, if you are both reading and listening in your target language. For the read L1, listen L2 step, you obviously couldn’t count it as reading in your target language.

Is anyone else finding that their titles aren’t coming up on the website when they tweet them? The last two things were tweeted as I usually do with the titles, but the list on the site was ‘unknown’.

Are you using the right sort of quotation marks? The bot doesn’t understand smart quotes. You need this kind: "". If you are using a tablet, you might need to press and hold the quotation mark key for the various kinds to show up.

I've had a long title listed as unknown so I had to shorten it. If the quotation marks are correct, please link to the tweet in question :)

Weird, think it must have been the quotation marks - don’t know when my phone stopped using the old ones! Thanks for your help!

We're at the mid-way point!

How's everyone doing? Any highs, lows, or exciting new discoveries?

------------------------------------------------------------
For myself, I'm on track for Spanish and French, but am steadily losing ground with Italian.

The best part of this challenge recently is that I've been able to read books that haven't been translated into English yet (Michele Houellebecq's latest novel in French, some of Italo Calvino's writings in Italian, and Santiago Posteguillo's historical novels in Spanish). This feels pretty cool; all this study really is opening up doors that would have been closed otherwise.

On the other hand, I have quit more books than I ever have in my life. I used to be someone who always finished a book. Now, if I stall, I'm just as likely to put the book back on the shelf. Sometimes I'm not even sure if I'm quitting the book because it's bad, or if it's just too hard & so I'm finding flaws in it, and reasons to quit.

I've been keeping up with my listening through audio books and podcasts. On track for all three languages, but I feel that I might run out of Italian content soon.

I believe I've improved my reading quantity but it comes at the expense of less time on film. I'm fairly confident I'll make the double challenge on film but not so sure about the reading. At current rate I am projected to have 150 books and 228 for film.

On the last SC I had a tendency to quit books but this time I'm soldiering through since I have the separate 100 actual book goal.

Please help!
I just read about this bot that counts your SC progress. Is it different from these bars I have as a signature? If it is, can someone send me a link that explains how I can subscribe?

Thank you!
