I am trying to delete a tweet from July 22.

@langchallenge #spanish #read 350 pages "HP5 primera parte"

I have tried #delete and #undo, and changing the number of pages, and nothing is working.

Is there a way that someone can delete that tweet for me? Pretty please? :D :D

I can delete it via the backend database. However, the problem with deletions is there isn't any option to "undelete" and there is a potential here to bugger up a lot of information in your account. Worst case is I could delete all entries accidentally. So while I will try my best not to delete all your data, or screw up your account the possibility is there.

So, still want me to go ahead and try to delete it?

EDIT: Have a look at the time and see if this is when you posted it, is this the right entry?

Try tagging the bot explicitly (even though this is already a reply to yourself and the bot).

Yes, thank you Serpent! That worked, finally! I wonder if swearing at the bot helped.

@langchallenge #delete this damn tweet already!

Rick, yes that was the one, but Serpent's way fixed it. Thanks! :D

check in time!

If I'm counting right, this week we're at the 20% point of the super challenge. How's everyone doing? Any highs (or lows) to report?

For myself, I had a slow start. I got bogged down in books that were too long, and not interesting enough for me to binge, but not bad enough to quit. I ended up clearing my shelf and starting over with books I actually enjoyed.

I've written up enough of these on my log, but reading highlights have been:

French: Patrick Modiano, Rue des boutiques obscures. Marcel Pagnol, L'eau des collines
Spanish: Gabriel García Márquez. Cien años de soledad. Cixin Liu. El problema de los tres cuerpos
Italian: Italo Calvino, Orlando furioso di Ludovico Ariosto. Umberto Eco, Storia delle terre e dei luoghi leggendari

The biggest ah-ha moment came with the Book Club here, when I realized that I didn't need to depend on English translations for international, non-Romance language authors. It seems so obvious in retrospect.

For audio, I've been enjoying my podcasts and audio books, but the only strong recommendation I have is for La storia in cucina, a podcast from Rai Radio 2. No surprise that the Italians would cover the history of cuisine better than anyone!

I'm at 47 films and 18 books for romance family though it's all been Italian thus far. Not keeping the balance I was striving for although I have started several books. I don't enter them until I've completed them.

Oof. Did the tracking bot ever get working? Last I checked it still claimed that the challenge ends in 2017 and it had some of my old data in there from years ago. (I lost track of this year's actual progress months ago.)

Yes, it works now!
Still says it ends in 2017 but the old data has been removed :)

Oh yeah, I must make that pick the date from the DB, not hard coded! Ok, I'll put that on the list.

I'm doing a Double Super Challenge, and to make things easier for me to calculate I just figure out how many minutes of movies I need to watch and how many pages I need to read.

I've read 3,040 pages out of 10,000 and have watched 8,115 minutes out of 18,000.

I guess the good news is that if I were doing a regular (non "double") challenge, I'd be pretty close to meeting my goal. But since I opted for the double challenge, I have a long ways to go.

The highs: My listening skills have improved quite a bit and I now feel comfortable watching most TV shows. If a show gives me trouble I know that after a few episodes I'll get used to accent/vocabulary and my comprehension will increase. It's just a matter of rinsing and repeating with multiple TV series. In terms of reading, I've seen big improvements in my reading comprehension. I feel comfortable reading most novels in Spanish. I feel like any of the words I come across nowadays are not that important and I can usually infer the meaning based on context. I don't come across too many words that I don't know and consider to be important enough to commit to memory.

The lows:

I've definitely slacked on my reading lately. I was getting 30-60 minutes in each day but recently I have been spending almost all of my language learning time watching shows or listening to podcasts. I've been watching less TV as well because I have realized that tv might be easy, relaxing, and more fun, but for improving listening skills podcasts are the way to go (at least for me). Too bad we don't have a podcast/listening challenge ;)
