Language: French
Challenge: Double
Current level: B2ish
Comments, links: Work commitments have made it difficult to maintain a steady routine recently, but I've managed to keep reading throughout. Breaking it down to a time commitment per day, I think a double challenge is achievable, although it is a step up from the amount I'm doing at the moment. My reading level is not bad and I can fairly comfortably read contemporary fiction. I've struggled a bit with listening in the past, but I do feel that this challenge will see a massive improvement in my comprehension.
Best of luck to all, I can't wait get started!

Re: Super Challenge registration thread
Language: French
Challenge: Full
Current level: Intermediate to advanced (I'd estimate between a solid B1 to a shaky B2)
Comments, links: I have a huge reading list that's piled up, so I figured, why not? I'll be updating my log: https://forum.language-learners.org/vie ... =15&t=7581
I may or may not switch to German half-way through and make it a double half challenge.
Edit: I dropped out because I didn't like tracking my time with Twitter, but still working on French!

Re: Registration
Language: Danish
Challenge: Full
Current level: B2?
Comments, links: The film portion will be the bigger challenge for me. I read a lot anyway.
Log is here. Thus far, I have an atrocious record for updating my log. By contrast, I update my Goodreads account almost every day. Feel free to send my a Goodreads request. I love seeing what people are reading
ETA: If your Goodreads user name is different than your forum name, I would appreciate it if you would let me know your forum name with the request. Otherwise, it can be hard to figure out who is who!

Re: Super Challenge registration thread
Language: Spanish
Challenge: Full
Current level: C1
Language: Italian
Challenge: Full
Current level: probably B1ish receptive
This will be my third Super Challenge. I won the first one, which I did for Spanish only. The second one I registered for both Italian and Spanish. I abandoned Italian halfway through, and I ended up dropping the SC altogether when the twitter bot stopped working, but I’m sure that I would have finished for Spanish had I kept tracking.
I will definitely finish Spanish his time. I’ve also decided that I want to keep working on receptive Italian, even though it’s not very high on my priority list. I might not finish the SC in Italian, but I’d like to track and see where I end up.

Challenge: half

Comments, links: My second (half) Super Challenge and again for Finnish only. I'm taking only a half challenge to leave enough time for reading books in other languages.

Challenge: Maybe one double challenge. Maybe four half-challenges.
Level: Mixed Bs. I read well, I can follow podcasts, I can speak once I've warmed up, and I don't even try to write. I'm a beginner at Latin.
Comments: I actually haven't decided yet if I want to register with one double challenge for the combined Romantic languages, or four half-challenges. Right now I'm leaning towards four halves: French, Italian, Spanish, and one general "romance" to capture both Latin and the Renaissance Italians (Dante, Petrarch, Boccaccio). I'm totally reliant on parallel texts for both Latin and the Renaissance guys, so it makes sense to me to lump them together.
I'd call it a "dead Romantics" category, but that might irritate all those people who insist that Latin is a living language.
For now, I'll be tracking on my log. I'll jump on the twitter-bot sometime this summer.
Wow, if you decide to do 4 half-challenges we'll have almost the same goal! (with latin swapped for portuguese), can't wait to read your log!!!

Comments: Last year I did a half along with a Russian half. This year no Russian, just Esperanto. Perhaps, quizas, I'll add Spanish later in the 20 month time frame.

You're not a C1 (or B1 or whatever) if you haven't tested.

Re: Super Challenge registration thread
First time doing this challenge, so let's see how it goes...
Language: Japanese
Challenge: full
Current level: ~B1
Comments, links: I don't think I'll be able to read that much in japanese, but I'll give it a try. And not all, but probably most of the "movies" will have subtitles in English.
Language: Portuguese
Challenge: full
Current level: used to be C2... currently ~C1
Comments, links: I read more things in Portuguese than what I watch, so that will be the actual challenge for myself in this.
"Unofficially", I'm going to try to keep track (in a spreadsheet or something like that) of a double challenge for English.
Best of luck to all!

How about language families? How do I register for Romance languages?
