Well everyone, there are only 3 months left of the Output Challenge. How are you doing? Are you going to win or will you need to start over next year. I'm also curious how many people have taken up the challenge, and if I should continue it next year? Next year I might fire up a bot for recording scores, it seems people prefer bots.

I don’t need to win, as long as I beat you. Winning is highly unlikely at this point, but it has helped me to make great progress this year. I will be doing it again next year and I think I’ll finally be at a level high enough that I’ll have a hope of actually completing it.

Edit: Yes, please make a bot. Bots make everything more fun.

I don't regret dropping out, but I am also not good at motivating myself to write so I basically haven't since May (and that was only in Russian). It is definitely something I want to focus on so I might throw myself back in the ring if it's happening next year.

It gets much easier around the B2 mark. I really struggled in the beginning. My mind would go blank every time I tried to write and when I remembered what I wanted to write about, I had to look up dozens of words and check grammar points all the time. Now it’s still slower than writing in English and I can’t say everything I want to say, at least not with all the nuance I could in English, but it’s no longer painful to write in Spanish.

14k words written, haven't written anything since June

I find writing very helpful but it's not my main focus so I doubt I'll complete the challenge.

All of which is very true, I am sure, but I dropped out because I had final exams and then job hunting. It was about priorities and timing rather than ability.

Agreed! I only heard about the Output Challenge recently and I'm looking forward to signing up for next year.
