The drills are essentially FSI drills following a book instead of following an audio. Since my grammar needs work and I really need to drill, am startng from chapter one and going forward. Looking at the number of pages, I may be drilling in chapter one for a week.

Day 2... Just did 5:53 minutes of drilling with more to be done later.

Congratulations !
I'm trying to figure out how to put in a progress bar.

The answer is this FAQ.
BTW, are we supposed to have a separate log for these challenges, or include the info in our usual log?

I just put them in my own log, and post a notice here that it's there. If that makes sense. :?:

Tomgosse, thanks for pointing me to the instructions on how to add a progress bar. I was surprized that after adding the info, the progress bar was added to my prior post.

Depending on the frequency I would recommend posting to the general discussion thread when you hit a milestone point? The rest of the time you can just update your logs. But really this is just a guideline, I'm happy to read about peoples progress anywhere!

OK, then I will post milestones to this thread. My log will continue to have general mullings about what I'm up to as well as blurbs about the challenge. In other words the log may or may not have challenge related blurbs.

Thanks

I'm getting caught up on my Output Challenge of recording fifty hours of myself speaking French. My daily goal is to record ten minutes a day. I'm still recording a copyright work, so I can't publish any samples. I hope to find something in the public domain by the end of the week. It is still going to be quite a while before I can create enough of my own material to fill up ten minutes.

How is everyone else doing?

I'm doing okay. My writing is going better than my speaking, thanks to being able to message my boyfriend. I finished a book today, and wrote a review which I've posted on my blog (and a shortened version on goodreads). I will have it corrected and then record myself reading it.

I'm doing pretty well so far. I wrote double my daily words today so I'm doing well on that front. Then again, I have also recorded at least 10 minutes of speech every day so that's not going badly either :)

It's still early days though...

I've managed to video myself making "Quick & Dirty Spaghetti & Meatballs" now just need to collate, voice-over, and do subtitles. (The benefit here is I knock out the Output for written at the same time as the recorded!)

Might do some kinda bread making or Kimchi video next.

I'm on 290 words right now - I just started today if you don't count a small Reddit post I made on the 1st - and I've got a question: Do you have to publish every little thing that you write? I keep a journal and I also paste the Skype messages I write in German into a word document, and I feel it would be pointless to share all that on this forum or lang-8...
