Every short (or long) stride in language learning brings us that much closer to fulfilling our language goals, and I feel that this last challenge has been particularly motivating for those of us who took a few more steps on that journey.

A special shout out to smallwhite_hk, carlyd734, and lingua2016, who topped the leaderboard for target language hours during this challenge, as well as three toots on the klaxon for smallwhite_hk again, along with ifthebirdswere and marianilsen11, who logged the most hours across all languages.

Well done, everyone, and hopefully we'll see many of you again in the next challenge...

Altogether, I count over 1,000 hours spent on target languages in our autumn challenge this year, which starts to approach twice as many hours if you take all languages into consideration. It was particularly encouraging, not only to see a general increase in the number of participants over last year, but also to read lots of inspiring and positive feedback throughout (and particularly towards the end) of this challenge.

A special congratulations goes to veskrnap for bringing home the gold with Japanese for target language hours, followed in hot pursuit by newcomers Bunnychuuuu and xbrilliantyears in 2nd and 3rd positions. And a respectful tip of the top hat is well overdue to BrunUgle for finally hitting gold in the total language hours category (just that one target hours gold medal left now for a full house!), as well as to marianilsen11 and ifthebirdswere for striking silver and bronze with some similarly impressive hours.

On a concluding note, well done to everyone who took part and made progress during the challenge, and a special ありがとうございました to smallwhite for setting up and promoting the last dozen or so 6WC threads - you have earned yourself an いちご大福!

I didn't participate this time. Hardly studied the last two months.

Parabéns to IanHiett for rockin' the Casbah for target hours in last November's 6WC, and to carlyd734 and lingua2016 who followed closely behind with German and Italian. Well done also to marianilsen11, veskrnap, and IanHiett again who took the top 3 positions for total hours, and to everyone who participated in the challenge and chose to stay rather than go... 8-)

כל הכבוד to our target language winner zenmonkey for cooking with Hebrew and still finding time for cosy "mac and cheese" moments along the way. Шеф-повар (head chef) serpent849 also did it again and put in an impressive number of hours across all her languages in the kitchen - rumour has it she's well on her way to earning a Michelinguistic star.

Let's not forget to charge and raise our glasses in honour of the runners-up, tokyo_slacker, Radioclare, BrunUgle, and aloysius___, as well as toast all fellow language learners de cuisine who participated and progressed in their chosen language(s) during this challenge. Well done, everyone!

So does that we mean we don't need Mvillalba to spend their time working on a new one or repairing it? If so, I had better tell them now. I would hate to waste a volunteer's time!

Unless someone has a suggestion for a different type of Bot, I'd be inclined to stop them. :)
