Well, since it's ending tomorrow anyway, I doubt it will be fixed in time.

I think I did fairly well this time--I met all the goals I set for myself, and now will work on verbs and grammar until the next one starts August 1st.

I watched Wales-Slovakia in Welsh today so I'm really excited to log that :D

The bot won't respond to my tweets.

It has responded to a bunch of tweets I made earlier, but I completely gave up on tracking my time these last few days as it didn't look like it was going to be fixed anytime soon. So, I basically ended the challenge a few days early. I was doing reasonably well up to that point though. And I'll be looking forward to August, when I'll also miss the first day or two because of travel, but hopefully get lots of studying in after that. Thanks for a great competition, everyone. It was fun.

The bot won't recognise it, but I did 11596 mins / 193 hours. I'd likely come 4th.

Target language Swedish I did 4603 mins / 77 hours. I'd likely come 3rd.

This time, I managed to register with Swedish and then actually study Swedish. It made up 40% of my total hours.

And I did (finally) finish off Swedish as I had hoped to, reaching a functional intermediate level. Unknown words in novels is 2.3% so far, all SRS'd by now so the figure should be better from now. I've learned most grammar and I've drilled conjugation. The only grammar point I really should know well but don't is noun plurals. I can translate or say sentences up to about 7 words long ('cos that's where I've practised up to using sentences from Tatoeba). Throw in a conjunction and the sentence becomes 15 words long :D Listening is Okay with slow speech and Oh No with fast, slurred speech.

So, nothing brilliant, but useable nonetheless, and enough for now. Because now is time for wanderlust again!

smallwhite wrote:The Challenge is starting in an hour but I still can't decide on a target language. I really ought to be studying and finishing off Italian to get it out of the way (started 5 years ago...), but my heart is with Swedish at the moment...

I almost forgot - I finished off Italian as well during this 6WC! Killed two languages with one 6WC!

I was going to study Italian to a solid B2, but eventually got sick of it (or of Romance languages in general), so I just wrapped everything up wherever I was and called it a day. My level is "learned-and-drilled-up-to-B2-but-remember-zilch".
