Jack asked about all the affixes, here is a useful table :- https://projektozamelejev.wordpress.com ... ta-tabelo/ available in several languages. This website is also useful for taking words apart :- https://revaj.steloj.de/akrido/

This is exactly what I was thinking about...more of a cheat sheet. I have no intension of memorizing them. I just want something to reference when I'm writing sentences. I'll end up remembering the ones I use most and not worrying about the rest.
Thanks Andy.

Re: Fastest C1 Ever Challenge - Sign Up & Study Group
I have a question about what grammatical ending to use in a particular situation.
A previous lesson mentioned that for sentences where there is no explicit subject, you need to use the -e ending on any modifiers that come after the verb. So "It is hot" should be "Estas varme" not "Estas varma".
But what if there were a whole clause after the verb and there is a subject in the main clause? So for "The weather is not hot, in fact, it is cold" what ending should be used on the word for cold? "La vetero ne estas varma, fakte, estas malvarm?" It still refers back to "La vetero" so should it be an -a, or still an -e since "La vetero" doesn't appear in that second clause?

If there is an -o word somewhere that the -a word refers to, you need -a rather than -e. Doesn't matter if it's in the same clause, as long as it was explicitly mentioned somewhere.
Esperanto adverbs (words with -e) appear whenever English also uses adverbs, PLUS when there is no -o word that the adjective could reference, for example also in exclamations:
Bone! - Good! (literally: "Well!" - Esperanto uses an adverb)
Bona ideo! - Good idea! (Esperanto uses an adjective because there is a noun that it modifies)

Thank you all for showing up despite being busy! Our next session is on January 8th and it will cover lesson 6 of "Complete Esperanto".
In the meantime, I recommend
- doing any exercises you missed in the previous lessons
- memorizing words related to yourself, your hobbies, things you tend to want to say
- practicing the affixes: try creating 10 words with each of the affixes (-et-, -eg-, mal-, -ul-, -ej-, -em-, -ad- and any that I missed)
Some ideas for easy reading: Time-travel story, Mystery story, relatively easy nonfiction articles. Note that if you did not study any vocabulary other than the words in Complete Esperanto, you'll probably still encounter a lot of unknown words. That's why I recommend installing this browser plugin which gives you on-click translations on any website you visit, for Esperanto and any language.
Plus This masterlist has links to music, video and other resources.
Feel free to post questions and exercises here.
Have a great holiday!

It would be nice if someone could add those to the master list of resources for Esperanto?

Actually we've already done exercises on numbers, so let's discuss lesson 6 AND 7 at our first January meeting.
