upper intermediate / advanced Spanish TAC?

Postby Stelle » Wed Dec 30, 2015 8:43 pm

Is anyone interested in a team for upper intermediate / advanced Spanish?

By upper intermediate, I mean a person who:
    - can relax with a Spanish novel
    - can easily follow the news in Spanish, and can comfortably follow a TV show or movie without subtitles
    - can engage in conversations exclusively in Spanish, without strain for either speaker or listener (although, of course, they may not always be as eloquent as they'd like)

Basically, when I say upper intermediate, I mean somewhere around a B2 level on the CEFR scale. Advanced would be C1. Our needs are very different from beginner learners, especially once we find ourselves on the interminable plateau between B2 and C1.

Personally, I think that with a little bit of writing practice, I could very confidently sit a B2 exam. I would like to bump my level up to C1.

If there are enough of us interested, I'd be willing to lead a team! If there are just a few people, then maybe we could just have a more casual partnership for motivation and support.

¡Sabes que puedes contar conmigo, Stelle!

This year I will be doing as much as I can in Spanish, to stabilise my shaky C1ish level and work on pushing on towards near-native proficiency.

Here is my log!

This is me. Sign me up. Just don't ask me to write well in Spanish.

I'm in! 2016 is the year I want to push myself into solid C1 territory. Last year I spent 3 wonderful days in Spain and read a lot of great books, but didn't speak or write regularly. I also hope to get a copy of Como agua para chocolate and join in the discussion.

All right then! I think that four is a good enough number to start out with. I'll put up an "official" thread later today. ¡Gracias compañer@s!

I guess I will be lurking here! I am currently enrolled in the beginner/intermediate Spanish TAC group, which is really where I belong, since I am currently about A2 passive, A1 active. I am getting a little restless with learning materials however and am looking for material that would be mostly comprehensible but still challenging for my A2 comprehension level. I will also continue to slog on with my learning material as well (Asimil, LL Ultimate Spanish, Sandberg's Spanish for Reading, etc.).

I am not trying to join since I am already in the beginner TAC group, but just wanted to say ¡hola!

Welcome, Haziz! Several of us will probably also be lurking on the other Spanish team thread. Just because there are two teams doesn't mean that we can't support and help one another!

This is pretty much a dead thread. Come visit our official TAC thread.
