Listening: ~141 hours

Reading: ~1723 pages / 34.5 books (from Jan 1st)

With just over two months to go, how is every one else doing?

I presume today is the final day, so here's my final update:

Listening: ~160 hours -- I finally found some good podcasts to use whilst running :D

Reading: ~2573 / 51.5 books

I made that goal of 2500 and will give 5000 a try next time.

I flaked off into other languages and didn't even finish a half challenge in reading. :(
I finished a half challenge in listening. :o

I didn't record some of what I did, but it wouldn't have made much difference.
1866 pages read
5346 minutes listening.

I had a blast with languages during the time of the Superchallenge, although I couldn't concentrate enough to get anywhere fast. :D

Hello!
It's the last day but I finished!!! It was a close one this year. The whole COVID situation took a toll on me. But I managed it after all! 9000 minutes of films/series/audio books and 5000 pages of books. It was wonderful, thank you for the opportunity to do it. I will describe my whole experience one of these days on my language log. For now, good year everyone!!!!

I finished the challenge as well! I ended up doubling the challenge and finished back in October but then took a much needed break. I plan to write a reflection on my log at some point. Given that I started from 0, I'd say I learned a lot but I'm still not where I want to be in terms of listening and reading comprehension. I read 11671 pages and watched 401 hours of Netflix.

I'll do a bigger write up on my log sometime tomorrow or this weekend. I came close in both (full Spanish, half French) but did not finish any. I was over 90% for both in reading and watching, however Nope, only 88% for French reading. I can definitely tell I made big strides in both languages and will in all likelihood join the next challenge, probably with more of a focus on French (as it's weaker and could use some work). Spanish I feel like I need to focus on output at this point--not that there's not work to be done on comprehension, just that my active skills lag far behind. While I feel I get more out of shows than podcasts (will expound in the log post), podcasts absolutely kept me in the challenge. I just don't watch that much TV. Had I not been dealing with a move at the end of the year I think I would've completed this no problem.

Spanish Reading: 4,952 pages (99%)
Spanish Watching: 8,744 minutes (97%)

French Reading: 2,192 (88%)
French Watching: 4,326 (96%)

Feel free to give me corrections in any of my target languages!

There's a month to go until the next Super Challenge. Anyone starting to think about it?

Besides thinking about what I want to read and watch, I'm starting to think about adjusting my spreadsheet dashboard, particularly the speedometers. The problem, which I only realized towards the end of the challenge, is that the speedometers are based on the amount that you are behind or ahead on your challenge, with no account taken of how much time is left. But 10% behind with 12 months to go is very different from 10% behind with 12 days to go. I'll have to give that a thought, but I don't know if I will have time to implement the change. In any case, the main functions of the spreadsheet worked well for me.

Yes, thinking about my first half-challenge, in Latin; maybe a bit optimistic, but I don't want to wait until 2024...
Latin films are obviously a non-starter. But those who have done the super challenge obviously gain a lot from it, so definitely keen to give it a go.

I haven't been on the forums in a long while, but I'm gearing up to do extensive reading for Japanese. I think I'll join the Super Challenge!
